I've been banned from the Marshall Forum...

I grew up in a boating family, and we used to spend summers up in the San Juan Islands. Lots of fishing, mainly Ling Cod and Salmon. Love seafood, but not the extra slimy stuff. Octopus, squid, stuff like that. Not gonna do it.
When I was stationed in S Korea, I tried some squid jerky a few times. I tried oyster only once. About anything can be tried with a beer in hand. Except for that hot-ass chili pepper straight off the vine. Trashed out me learned a thing that day.

That's a work of art.
If you mail me the face plate, I'll make the opening bigger. :yesway:

Hey @fitz , I forgot to tell you... I emailed Nik for the exact chassis dimensions. It's 14" x 7.5" x 2.625". It will fit my cab, but the front panel would definitely need to be remade because the opening is not only too short, but it's too wide by 1 3/8". I thought about having Sandy just make me a longer faceplate to fill the side gaps, but I really think I'd be happier with a black head for this one. Besides, if I ever get back to the Lil' Devil then I wouldn't have a cab for it. I'm thinking about turning it into something else, but I don't know what yet.

So I'm going to have Sourmash make me a new head shell, black with gold piping. It'll look more Marshall than my actual Marshall after I did the stealth treatment to it.

When were you there? I was stationed in Songtan (Osan Air Base) in 92. Had such a blast, it was both the worst and best year of my life and I'll never forget it. That dried squid was gnarly, I remember eating it several times because everyone else was and that Soju makes you not care. I mostly remember the whole street smelled like dead fish when the cart was near by. Good times!

Scotch, it’s The Balvenie Doublewood. But these days I steer toward ryes and the occasional bourbon. (#1 son bought me a wheated bourbon that is very smooth.)

Not a big seafood fan… I’ll eat a seared salmon filet with wasabi, or a shrimp cocktail, but that’s about it. Except for sushi… I love it. Maguro, spicy tuna roll, smoked sake sashimi… yum.

I don't think I've ever tried Rye. I like a good Scotch in my old age, but I'm still a sucker for tequila. I love tequila, it's my Friday night go to. I love rum, too, but these days it gives me the worst hangover. Same thing with wine.

I told you man, all you have to do is say the word and I'll tell Cross you want back in. He already told me that anyone that was banned back then is welcome to come back if you want to.
yeah I 100% believe you. But I honestly feel that being banned was the best move for me. If I wasn't banned, I'd probably still be behind a keyboard missing out on life. :)

There have only been 2 advertisers on TTR and both are members. One advertiser we lost during covid and the other advertiser is a beloved well hung leather artist that is unable to sell his artistry here in the US due to new terrifs being charged to our Canadian brother.

Speaking of donations it will soon be time to start up collections again. The bills start rolling in October thru December so I try to take collections early so as not to tap into our members holiday funds. As I have said many times before, this is not MY forum. It is OUR forum, all of us the membership here, for without all of us, there would be no TTR. Some of us can afford to donate money. Some of us can afford to donate time and posts. All members are equally appreciated and valued. No cork sniffers here. Whether you are a professional musician with a catrillion dollar gear collection or a poor working stiff that barely knows where the E string is, you are judged only by the kind of person you are. We do not put up with jerks. We have had some professional studio musicians in our fold and unfortunately you can now find some of them in the Fallin Stars area, God rest their souls.
I'd be happy to make a donation now if you would point me to the location.

More formerly great forums being sold off has been sending new members our way and I for one offer an extended hand welcoming them to join us. As previously mentioned, we are a small family here. I think that may be what keeps us a happy family.
...
Wait and see what happens after VerticalScope "upgrades" the MyLesPaul forum (if they're dumb enough to make the same mistake twice). You just might end up more than you asked for. LOL!

I was there from 82-86 in the western corridor, next to the 4th tank trap, at Cp Edwards, doing signal maintenance. Fun times indeed.

A Korean gal followed me home for the next ten years...The mother of my 2 kids.

smh...
4th highest reaction score in the history of the Marshall Forum.
New owners, new platform, and a new heavy-handed moderation.

Admittedly, I asked for it.
Go forth and recruit.
You broke the most important rule of the internet! You said "Admittedly, I asked for it." The #1 internet rule is clearly don't EVER admit to anything ever....it's also the rule of the world in general these days. ;)

Technically, I didn't actually "ask for it".
I made a comment that "IF" I were to be banned, it would be easier to delete my browser link.
It was probably my whitewashing comment that earned me the "devisive" accusation.

I think Cross was looking for a way to silence the discussion about deleting posts that didn't violate any rules, but were posing questions they didn't want to answer.

In any event, my ban ends tonight at midnight.
Covert operations begin at 12:01. :hmmm:
