Well crap

Just saw this thread, sorry brother, hope things get better soon.
Thanks brutha, It will be fine. The ebb and flow of what I do is neverending. I belong to a union and there are particlar rules about being employed and unemployed. I also kind of have a somewhat niche skillset ( a very particular set of skills :ROFLMAO: ) and do kind of a specific kind of work. The company I am or was with lost 2 big jobs they thought they had. So I may end up with one of the companies that did get those jobs. One way or the other I will be fine. I have only been with this company for a year because of a similar thing last time around. The economy is a bit worse than then though, we will see. Until then ....

Sorry to hear of this @C-Grin
I went through the same situation last year, I spent many hours on the damn phone, but as you said, it will pick up and you will be back to work, ..
I had been doing little odd jobs since April, and as of this coming Monday I will have a project up in the mountains.. close to @Don O .
That should take 3 months + or - .
Keep your chin up bro.

I apprecieate it my friend, we will be fine. The wife has a good job, so we arn't hurting so I just need to keep on her good side  . Any way off to rub her majesties feet. :ROFLMAO:
When I got laid off in 09, I joined the ranks of what got called “long term unemployed.” I had problems even getting interviews. Fortunately, like you. My bride had a decent job and we survived. The one positive that came from my time off….. I knew that when the time came to retire, I could do it without going stir crazy. And I haven’t!! Coming up on four years and I haven’t missed the daily grind of going to work for one minute.

But boy….. it sure was stressful at the time.
