I got layed off in 2019 on the whim of a CEO to save money.

At 59 years of age I had never been un-employed or even filled out a resume.
It was a dark cloud for a month.

I thought I was screwed but it turns out I found the right way to make a current resume. I got 3 real good offers.
Even though I got back to work it was slow hard climb back to my current job.
The same company, you might think why go back ?
Retirement benefits. Lol
 
Back on hold, took an hour to get to be on hold and 40 minutes in so far. I never got the call back I was promised, and have no idea if they recieved the information I was asked to send in to prove if I am me or not. This time around had to awnswer an incredible string of questions that I am not sure how it relates to to just wanting to file a claim of unemployment. Unless it prioritzes you somehow then I guess I should have answered differently :blink: :hmmm:. April 5th was the first time I attempted to cantact the unemjoyment deptment, by my calculations that is shall we say a little bit too long to still not be able to get this straightened out.

Everyhing leads you back to the online format now. The only thing the local offices do is refer you back to the online format. I have been tryng to call the local umemployment worksource center as it is called now and just keep getting disconected.
 
6-1/2 hours on hold and 2 hrs of attempting to get on hold or answer questions. And no resolution. I did talk to someone though who said I sent things to the wrong place and gave me another fax number to send all of my most important documents. And she told me it would be 2 weeks minimum before they could get to them.

That reminds me of when I was in high school I worked at a grocery store and they would play Christmas music from Thanksgiving on. My family still can’t understand why I can’t stand listening to it.
