This song saying what I think it’s saying?
The bottom has been falling out for a while. It may take some time to come around.Sup with that?? Sounds ominous.
I got laid off on 09…. Just as the economy was in recovery mode from that recession. So positive thoughts headed your way.Your call will be answered in the order it was taken, your wait is 1 hour 37 minutes. Still on hold to the Oregon unemployment line. Apparently there is a problem with me getting signed up for unemployment, imagine that.
We have a new system here that is online but it said I didn't exist, so almost 3 hours of attempting to get on the phone with a person who will probably tell me the same thing.I got laid off on 09…. Just as the economy was in recovery mode from that recession. So positive thoughts headed your way.
I will say. Illinois has its issues…. As do many if not most states. One thing that did work at the time was getting signed up for unemployment. Was able to do it online. Didn’t have to call in. Didn’t have to go to an office. Literally took minutes and I was signed up.

And yet…. They have no problem taking taxes out of your paycheck. Sounds to me there’s a clerical error on your former employer. We have a new system here that is online but it said I didn't exist, so almost 3 hours of attempting to get on the phone with a person who will probably tell me the same thing.![]()

I'm hoping it's that simple, we shall see 1 hour 34 minutes in hope they pick up soon. And yet…. They have no problem taking taxes out of your paycheck. Sounds to me there’s a clerical error on your former employer.
I had to do that once myself, but I only had 1 employee at the time. It’s this garbage I don’t miss being retired. Yes. There’s issues with that as well. Dealing with SSA and Medicare. But in the near 50 years I worked, I had to do the unemployment this 3 or 4 times. Only once from getting laid off from a business that’s still operating. The other times were those…..” turn in your keys to the front door fellas…. This business ain’t no more.”
That part and worry I don’t miss.
Last time it happened to me my store was part of a 10 store conglomerate spread out over 3 states. So probably 100-150 employees. Long story. But basically one of the four owner was practicing some shady financial stuff and our main brand of tractor company pulled our license. Or whatever you’d call it. Without that, we had nothing left to sell. Couldn’t do warranty. They came in with trucks and repossessed any equipment that was still in their books. Sucked.I had to do that once myself, but I only had 1 employee at the time.

We survived That mess by the skin of out teeth, but I also learned about reality and what was important. Also found out that the IRS has no compassion for someone just trying to do the right thing, and that paying every bill and fighting to be horable actually hurt us and we were penalized while crooks were rewarded with our money.I got laid off on 09…. Yeah. If it weren’t so necessary, I’d be tempted hang up on Kenny G on hold music.2 hours and 40 minutes on hold and 2 hours just trying to get on hold. and counting.
Thats a lot of Kenny G music![]()
