Tube Amp Reliability

Tube amp upkeep is just like owning a car. If you can bias and re tube it, or check caps for DC resistance you do it just as you would do maintaining a car properly. Change the oil , spark plugs, battery or belts you do it if not/can't/wont you take it to a tech, as you would an amp. I see ne reason for any protracted controversy about that
 
That is why I have Tube amps-----I play them "sparingly" and on special days----- the weekday work horses--- flip it on noodle for 10 minutes-- off -- on -- off --on as I haev time during the day or evening------
Solid state all the way---they are cheap-- reliable-- and EASY to replace--- replacing my Mesa would require great stress and hardship---replacing a 30.00 Mustang-- or a 45.00 Marshall-- or (Ive been looking for a cheap little ROLAND cube) is NOT a huge problem-- it would NOT cause me great emotional discord -- just bin it and grab another --- easy peasy

Except if you touch the wrong thing, you get hit with 400V and die. Also, the maintenance procedure is far less intuitive, and there is usually no instruction manual, only a complicated schematic.
