My house is from 1880's. has 3 ft stone walls & timber main beams. Over the years its been reinforced here & there with block.

We all have a PO BOX & must go to Post Office , no rural delivery. Quaint lil town still . 2 miles from Boat launch & have 12 mlie loop that passes the river where its Harley, Truck & Hot Rod parade all year long. Sit on my porch in summer & watch the cars. The local po po let us alone if we selectively do our burnouts & 1/4 mile runs at regular spots but maintain 25 in the towns. Main Police chief has 1966 Mustang 289.

Small town is nice. In my formative years in the 70s, if us kids were out being stupid. Cop would pull us over and tell us to get our butts home. No ticket…. But he would “escort” us to make sure we actually went home.

That doesn’t happen today. Probably shouldn’t have happened then. Different times.

Better to be safe. A few days I probably should have called in and I went to work anyway. As I look back on 50 years in the workforce…. After the fact…. Sometimes it just ain’t worth forcing the issue.
 
Our power went out for about 3 hours other morning.Ya the morning it wa -17 below zero. It came on for about 10 minutes and i ran in and made coffee and it went back out as soon as coffee gor done.didnt care then.
