The build up floor, which I'm calling the basement, will have its own furnace and AC system. The floor plan below shows our current idea for a bathroom and bar area.

Do you plan on running any electrical wires adjacent to BBQs?
Seriously, two words: Bass traps.
Traps make the biggest difference of all.
But seriously, use fire rated materials on all surfaces.
Keep all headphone cables, mic cables and electrical wiring separated as far as possible.
. I have Rockwool safe and sound in all the air gapped walls. Just finished the East wall today. The north wall was finished a while ago and I still have the south and west air gapped walls to build and insulate.

Those bassist traps aren’t big enough for Adrian to fit in. I have Rockwool safe and sound in all the air gapped walls. Just finished the East wall today. The north wall was finished a while ago and I still have the south and west air gapped walls to build and insulate.
Headphone and mic cables will be run in 3” ABS pipes I have running under the floor.

, I was going to cut them into 4’x4‘ squares (16 pounds) and screw them with #8 screws with washers and then vinyl tape the seems.
I haven’t installed it, but the studio we built in LA they had installed something very similar on the walls , not part of our scope of work, but then we put a 1/4” thick like vaneer over it, kind of like a door skin.Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV), anybody install this before? I have five 4ftx12ft rolls to install on the ceiling. This stuff is 1lb per sq ft, so each roll weights almost 50 pounds, I was going to cut them into 4’x4‘ squares (16 pounds) and screw them with #8 screws with washers and then vinyl tape the seems.

That is how they did the ceiling in the studio we worked onThis goes on the ceiling then I’ll install isolation clips that will hold hat channel. The final covering is two sheets thick 5/8“ drywall separated with green glue.
