YEs it weights a TON---
I can get almost identical "p" sounds out of the t-40 to my squire P -- BUT I can get IDENTICAL "P" tones out of the T-45 -- pick up plascement is more "P" like

Adrian, of course if one wants a P sound, just buy a P. If they already have P's, then a T45, T60 or whatever is good due to it being a different animal for a variety in one's playing pallette.
Same goes for Jazz Basses, Ric's, Music Man, Alembic etc. It is pretty cool to hear all the variations of tones one can get out of that T60.
