The '61, unless you have a green pimp suit like Bishop Don Magic Juan to go with the other one.

ZERO Votes on my poll, but I'm looking hard at the 61'. I love the VOS finish and I'm a sucker for green.
Zero votes? I voted within minutes of you posting this thread... But yeah, I voted for the fancy-shmancy one cuz it's very different from my other four SG's. But I definitely like the green '61 too.

It does. The 61' is period correct. Both are Custom Shop guitars very close in price.
My flame SG is an Elegant. Great guitar and unique. You can get a '61 in sooo many forms - Epi, low level Gibson, mid level, and custom shop. I would get the SG Elegant, and get a nice playing '61 that was not custom shop if I still wanted it. I have a '61 SG by Epi and Gibson. They both play great, but neither of them are as stunning as the Elegant.

I think it's best to have a few good guitars than a bunch of run of the mill guitars that's just me.
My first good guitar was a 1961 Les Paul Standard SG. I wore it out still have the pickups and tuners.
If you can't afford the original a Gibson Custom Shop is the next best thing they are well made and hold their resale value.
I was lucky to get my 1965 SG Standard. I like a backup got a DT 2015 SG pure garbage compared to playing the original.

Elegant for me. It's got a unique vibe and I am a sucker for green guitars (had a green LP Doublecut or a while and it had a similar flamey top). The '61 "vibe" is a dime a dozen at this point so to me something different and kind of special is attractive. Either way though, they are some dream guitars.

I am also a sucker for Green guitars! I keep flip flopping back and forth and I also keep talking myself down off the ledge.

I have no need for a new guitar, but damn it's hard to stop buying!
