Except when I need a jazzbox, the Variax Standard has been my go-to guitar since I bought it about a year ago or so.

It is the most versatile instrument I own.

That's the pic Sweetwater sent me after I chose my instrument. The decal on the pickguard is gone, and there are some wear marks now, but man, what a fine instrument.

Or you could name it Fiddler, as in fiddler crab.

Go-to black guitar? Waddaya know? I have posted the pic before, and it is yet another SG! I use this one for slide. Permanently tuned to open E. 57 Classics in neck and bridge. I recently swapped the white switch tip for a black one, though.
