This was just a test run, but I've been playing it for few days now without changing anything. I took the POS bridge off and put an aluminum bridge & tailpiece on and sure enough, it came to life!! I'm so stupid, I've been fighting with this guitar for years and it's all because I put a crap bridge on it. I now know where to get a black aluminum bridge and TP so I'll be replacing these so it looks right.
What I don't think I'm going to do is wire it up normal and put a neck pickup in it. It's so f'king light right now without all the extra pots, pickup, and switch I can actually strap it on to play without neck pain.
I just need to find a creative way to plug the holes and cover the neck pickup route. I'll probably use bullet casings to plug the holes like I did for the switch hole and move the volume pot up to the neck volume pot spot, but that neck route...

You sure you don’t wanna put a momentary kill switch, video game button, in there?…I mean…you’ve got plenty of space.
For the neck p/up route…maybe fill a pickup ring with some swirly black and clear epoxy, and screw it in?

I'm not sure of anything at this point except that I only want a bridge HB and volume pot. This is my beater, but it's got sentimental value. It was my first Gibson and first Les Paul. I bought it new in 2013.
I do want to redo the finish again to darken it up some. I ordered some brown liquid dye so I could mix it with Tru-oil to darken it up some, but for the first time ever my Amazon delivery made it to someone else's door because it wasn't delivered to me. I've been trying to contact the seller since the 19th after I saw the tracking said it was delivered on the 17th.

I put a 330k bridge volume pot on all my guitars except my Tele with regular single coils.
Old Yeller. Fender Tele Partscaster built by me for my Grandaughter but i borrowed it back for awhile lol. Fender USA 1952 reissue body, Squire roasted maple neck,Gotoh vintage tuners,WD music Esquire pick guard,brass neck plate,brass control plate,50s wiring,Seymour Duncan antiquities Tele pickup,heavy brass bridge.

Jammed tonight. The guitar dude who sat in didn't play bass at all so I handled the low end. Fine with me, I like playing bass. Well, sort of playing bass. LOL.
The first band I was in I played bass. All the guitar slots were full so I jumped in. Glad I did, it is fun to play. You may hear the guitar, but you feel the bass. Great when the drums and bass lock in.
