Robert, I bet you had a lot of enjoyment out there. Kathy and I drove from Vegas to Death Valley in March 2016 or 17 in a rental car with no tags. LOL.
I kept waiting to get pulled over by a cop, but nope. PS, I almost forgot to mention one of the highlights of the Death Valley visit was at the visitors station. I went up to the info desk to chat with one of the "Rangers" and even nearly 3000 miles away, she happened to have grown up in Western Md out in the Garrett County area near Deep Creek Lake. Sadly my whole trip West was accompanied by me having the flu when we flew out for the daughter's Vegas wedding. I did manage to walk out on the Salt Flat in Death Valley and to enjoy Route 66 and a town called Seligman where Kathy took me to a cool Snack Shack called Delgadillo's Snowcap
