What are you doing different since our lockdown

Worked my butt off every day this week. See no end in sight. They scrubbed the idea of a 32 hour work week, and we're back on 40. They say no overtime, but I see that going out the window with enough customer complaints. You can't make anything without CNC machinery, and if it breaks... it needs to be fixed.

I would love to spend some time at home.

Same here!!!!

Know you hate not seeing your Dad -- but good on ya Hack for NOT risking it --

and to think we used to THROW ROLLS of toilet paper LIKE THEY WERE FREE over trees and shrubs of those we didnt like................................................sad times indeed ....cant buy eggs to egg a house-- no T.P. fro proper pranks...

look I got lots of dog poop if ya'll wanna set fires on porches let me know Ill ship you some!

Guys selling TP on traffic islands here $20 a roll...

I got knicked for .99 a roll yesterday at the market.
Outrageous yes but that's the price of freedom.

If I had a megadump knocking at my back door, and no provisions, I'd probably pay the $20 for comforts sake.

There was some stores gouging shoppers here in Ontario, the Premier of Ontario got the message out that they were going to shut them down, that put an end quickly to that, there have been no more reports of this happening since. Also some guy in western Canada bought up huge amounts of toilet tissue and had an account with Amazon, once the word got out about this guy the Government shut down his account. Kudos for them doing that, those who are greedy and don't care about others shame on them. And now that his picture has been all over the news here, he will face the consequences of his actions.

Nice. When my wife's store shut down we ended up with a case of t.p. from Uline. Not the most comfortable, but I won't have to buy any for the rest of the year.

Just made a stand up pedal board...my main board with the (breakaway bump board for quick grab for studio) is now all dirt

next board is made into 4 shelf sections & can be picked up & moved wherever.wanted to take up no more space than needed..if i put my board on floor cept for live use..i will not use it much..cant see anymore . I noticed soon as moved up on dressor used it a whole lot more
Bottom shelf-- Compressors & clean boosts
2nd- 4 basic pedals to hit (Fuzz - -TS.. DS1-- & od/Dist) as basic sounds..nothing fancy
3rd--Eq's & LPB1 & RC Booster at end
top any mod-delays..ect

the idea since mainly use my amps for gain tone..is to have the pedals for very minor but very precise tweaks & not take up space.

I went to Auto Zone today and bought oil and a filter. Yes, tomorrow I get to change oil on the truck. Trying to get myself psyched up. It's super easy, but the whole laying on the ground and getting back up again thing sucks.

What am I doing different?

Pros:
Working from home. Been very busy but it's nice to hang out with my wife all day.
Playing guitar at least a couple of hours a day. Today (so far) its been 5.
Having lots of great gourmet food delivered right to the house and justifying the expense.
Don't have to interact with other people.
Got my dogs with me 24 hours a day.

Cons:
Not going to the gym every day.
Not going to the beach since its closed.
I miss going to restaurants.
A bit of cabin fever.
Have to plan strategically just to pick up basic items from the store.

Haven't seen my dad in two weeks.:(
I'd hate to be the one that brings him something bad.
But at least we've been chatting a couple times a day.

On a more positive note, was able to score 4 rolls of toilet paper today.

The whole isolation thing can be a bummer at times...

We found a four pack of TP and a single roll today... Woot-woot...
I ordered 10 rolls on Amazon, but they are saying delivery will be May or June o_O

Well, I've worked steadily through this entire ordeal. We kinda transitioned from doing music to producing the messages that businesses play announcing to shoppers what types of measures the stores are taking in response to Covid-19 and producing the telephone switchboard recordings.

I haven't really been able to find much musical motivation. The two bands i am with are still in limbo.

Nobody wants to meet up and rehearse, so I've tried to do a few little musical things here at home to keep from totally losing my skills.

Musically, i don't know what my future holds right now.

I've spent a lot of quality time with my wife and we've done both landscaping and interior decorating over the past few weeks. Its been great!!!!

But, probably my greatest and most enjoyable pastime has been riding my 1982 Honda XR500R. I've soent a lot of time riding and its been a source of great peace for me.

There are places i go where i can shut off the bike and i cannot see or hear any trace of civilization. I think these destinations are the ones that appeal to me the most.

I took a few rides deep into Death Valley, all the way to a place called Chloride City - about a 200 mile ride - through some of the most desolate terrain i have ever seen. Thi place is less than 5 miles from the Nevada border.

These death defying, deep-desert rides are part of the reason i earned the nickname "El Extremo" many years ago.

I ended up exploring an old mine that still had ore carts on the tracks, even spent the night sleeping on an old set of bedsprings with only a blanket. The bed springs are in the lower left of this photo.

I even run into a few other bike guys out here...

Now with a 3.8 gallon tank, and a thirsty 590cc race motor, i can usually pull off 38-42 mpg on flat ground and less in the hills.

I made my most recent run with a pair of two litre soda bottles of fuel, zip tied to the forks, two more in a backpack, (2 gallons total) a pair of 2 litre soda bottles full of water from the fridge and saltine crackers and peanut butter.

There's no way to charge my phone on a bike with only a magneto, so i have a couple of those emergency batteries with me.

My trips depend on me being able to accurately calculate my fuel consumption and cruising range, and being able to find fuel along the way.

One of my trips took me to the remote Death Valley town of Furnace Creek, where gas prices are astronomical.

My history in aviation has been a big help in this area, as well as map reading, because i am in places with no signal whatsoever.

I find a few cool creatures along the way...

And I've enjoyed some beautiful sunsets too...

My life is really great and i feel blessed and at peace.

Musically, Man...i just don't know where I'm going right now.

Wishing all of you all the best...
