Nope, I made him a custom -A 3" wide Devil's Leash with the red/orange saugerties ribbon on dark soft black velvet - called it the "Elvis 69comeback edition." So killer and it's going to really dress that hot paul.

But I still want this thread to remain interesting.. i was looking through some assorted pics, looking for dad pics come up with some other guitar designs and such that I had planned at one time, made graphic treatments of to flesh them out, or saved from sources. They are fun to look at, took my mind off things for a bit.

on another forum we were trying to come up with a new original DC style design, close to the big G, but still a bit different... this was my submission, on the far left.
I still think it even better than the original LOL

A few years ago I spend hours and hours separating the traditional f-paisley into separate layers and elements in a photoshop type program this gave me the ability to create
all manner of paisley colour schemes, only limited by imagination. Can even recreate poor registration of pattern, all levels and types of vintage aging, including fading of the various pigments and change the texture and colour of background. I was supplying the digital pattern to people to have printed for themselves to apply for awhile at no charge, only with the suggestion they maybe purchase a strap or whatever. Nobody ever did, so I just stopped offering it up.

Various paisleycaster treatments... these are off the beaten path but most people just wanted the traditional colour pattern, aged.

Then, start cutting and stamping... and those darn dragon scales again, with a mind to bring it to life... this is where I ended off yesterday, will continue on the back end today

They are rather undecided on stain colours... problem is they are looking to match like five different guitars of very different colours.
I'm suggesting just a sort of tobacco burst sort of thing... but we shall see where it goes.

you can see some imperfections in the scale tooling, but once it's all dyed-up, those seem to just disappear. - here's where we are at after a couple more hours.

Fresh offa da bench... King of the Dead "Midas" version... old, aged gold skull embossed, on black woven leather. Custom order to fixed length at 56" with holes punched for dunlop lockers affixment.

This one is going on an absolutely amazeballs black and gold '61 Gretsch 6128 - if you have not seen one of those before... take the time to look it up.

Feelin' kinda Gretchy today.... customer shot just in... Fender SilverGrill ( I stopped making these maybe a year or two ago, but this was NOS in my Reverb store)
