The Settings Remain The Same:

Ok, there's one thing the Fender guy told me that surprised me.

He said the Gotoh tuners are "junk" and my experience has been just the opposite.

He prefers the Fender tuners, which I don't think are nearly as good...

All my Fenders have bone nuts stock never been an issue.

One place to look is the spring claw could be the weak link.

67, and yet another potential fly in the ointment. But will that Claw affect his tuning as he says he is sharp, then bends behind the nut and it comes to spec, then back sharp again once open tuning only on that one string?

Ok, guys...

Found a new, Fender cream yellow hardtail body. It has the 6 holes drilled for the string ferrules and the 4 neck screw holes, but no pickguard holes or jackplate holes.

What's the best method for aligning the bridge plate???

Well, HERE is where I am at a loss and have 0 "Knowing how to ride a bike" experience locating hardware on a guitar body scenario.
SG John is one fella, and Bea, I would surely hit up for advice on how to locate precisely the important parts such as the bridge of a Hardtail project.

I would more than likely have to have a hands on the exact body piece, neck, and all associated parts to fiddle with measurements, centering, scale length etc type procedures before I would ever let a drill bit etc ever touch a virgin body. I usually call my methods of making expensive moves with tools as the "dummy method" MY methods are such that any dummy can do it without messing it up.

As you can see, my concerns are precise centering. Precise length from nut to saddles etc. Good luck Robert.

I mean, the tech gets $200.00 to do a setup (well worth it) and I can get a brand new Fender hardtail body from a music friend for $100.00....
