You're in luck, there hasn't been an actual straight news program in YEARS on ANY channel! So you haven't missed much.

That pretty much sums up the way I’ve been feeling for a while now...like a month...then I read post #143.I'm just going to go ahead and assume now that I won't have anywhere to live after this is over. It's very possible I won't have anywhere to live before this is over.
Well now, aren't you harbinger of joy...So latest developments are that this thing has two ways to attack our immune system. The normal way of infiltrating a cell and reprogramming it to release viral particles, and now they've discovered a new way in which it acts as an immunodeficiency virus, like HIV. It can hide out, dormant, in T-cell macrophages until your antibody levels are back to normal and then reactivates later. The second infection is far more severe in many cases. It's possible some people may have to live with this for life, like malaria or HIV.
This is leading researchers to believe that vaccines will not be effective for enough of the population to instill herd immunity and crush the thing. If we cannot achieve 80% herd immunity this thing will continue to spread like the flu year after year. They're also starting to learn that a lot of the treatments we are using to combat this are causing other problems, especially cardiovascular. This was initially doctors worry about chloroquine treatments before there were trials done to determine the efficacy which has now borne out to be warranted.
At first they believed people were just simply being re-infected because their antibody counts weren't high enough yet, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus anymore. Some people just aren't able to produce enough antibodies to this virus naturally. Plasma treatments seem to be the safest and most effective treatment thus far.
Also it has been determined in China that 78% of travelers deboarding planes are infected asymptomatically, and continue to spread it around. China has even begun to assume that everyone is infected at this point and all inbound travellers will be quarantined for 24 days at a minimum after arrival.
Additionally, researchers have discovered this thing can travel up to 13 ft in the air, twice the two meters distance recommended, and can stay airborne up to 5 hours in certain conditions. They've also released data on the infectivity rate versus the flu and it is quite a bit higher. The flu is already considered quite contagious.
I fear that if we open everything up to business as normal before we have this under control that is going to lead to a second wave of outbreaks possibly, of not likely, more deadly than the first.
and --- reason 148,652 why I NEVER WANT TO GO TO CHINA -----Also it has been determined in China that 78% of travelers deboarding planes are infected asymptomatically, and continue to spread it around.
