The head does not have any power amp. You’d need to lug around something. The powered head might be over kill, but it’s only 2 more pounds (and a few bucks more).
If you don't want to drag around a Power Amp you should go for the 600 watt model. It's either unpowered or the 600 watt. No other real choices.
You could get one of the new Seymour Duncan pedal board amps. I hear great things about those.
The Kemper is also great if you want to plug into FOH or a mixing console!
2 more pounds is doable. I let a guy play my modified, back up DSL40C. He fell in love with it and made me a ridicous offer...more than twice what i paid for it brand new.
There are a number of easily portable after market solutions. Here is a popular built in one.
