I was beyond fortunate to dodge a direct exposure from two patients that got wheeled into the hospital we're working at a few weeks ago and i mean one was RIGHT beside us before we knew. I went home, isolated, wore a mask indoors even, sprayed EVERYTHING with Lysol and lived in one room for a solid week. Got tested, carried on with the isolation until i got a full clear from the doctors. Only thing i think that saved me was my mask and i scrub my hands endlessly around this stuff
But my co worker on another job wasnt so lucky. He went to his grandfather's funeral Saturday before last, hugged family and all. By sunday night he was showing symptoms. Monday morning he was already positive and actually contracted Strep Throat in addition. Before he knew it, his 10 month baby caught it ( she did amazingly well believe it or not), most of the family at the funeral caught it and within 5 days, his wife contracted it and shes now in the ICU. Shes already received donor plasma from a Covid recovery patient, remdesivir and a pound of steroids. Not doing well and they're talking about a ventilator if they cant get this under wraps.
Shes 30 years old and had no health issues. A respiratory therapist, ironically enough. Its terrible out there, man
