Pass Around Guitar Idea...

So...Don O thinks it would be cool to ship a guitar around and let everyone play it. I think it might be cool as well. I think we should start with a cheapo so I have a Epiphone Special with 2 P90's in it to start this out.

We will need some ideas and some rules.

First rule for me is...Donor Guitar is still MINE at the end of the game!

Second idea...we allow some mods, not sure how far we should go on this one?

IDEAS?

Anyone Else IN?

you know HACK will put a 3rd P90 in iT!

I say we should maybe SIGN the guitar-- I mean if its A NICE guitar then maybe just in the control cavity? but a cool "keepsake" when it gets back to its home ---

A similar game was played on a motorcycle forum with a small Dinosaur -- or a plastic bear I forget some little toy -- and you had to take a pic of it on your motorcycle-- or doing something motorcyclish--- of course it all was very cool till some Douche destroyed the toy -- and ended the game--

What if I think it needs a Floyd?

This is great, Just ship to the next person close to you. Maybe a week time limit, or 10 days.
For a geographical marker I am in Phoenix for the Cali people.

Pics will need to be posted from each person. Sign the guitar on the body back. Big area for a lot of signatures.

Sounds like a great Idea, no shipping involved if members were close enough to do a hand off as it gets passed around.
I'm game. As said before, all mods become property of the donor, no reimbursement.
It sounds like fun. Signing the guitar might not work if someone donates a cool refinish.
There could be an official "TTR" T Shirt that could accompany the guitar and get signed by the participants, just a thought...

We could sign the back. One rule could be that the back has to be masked off if a refin is done.

What if a mod goes awry?

Like, what if I tried to install a Floyd in the headstock for that yet-to-be-discovered “headstock whammy” sound and it didn’t quite go right?

....and what if someone decides to swap in some crap p/ups for a nice set a previous holder had put in?

Edit: I mean that someone might favor an inexpensive set over someone else’s favorite pricy boutique set. It is rather subjective.

We can set limits as to what can and cannot be done/changed. It's more a pass around and take a pic to post activity than who can do the best mod contest.

That's my interpretation.

Yeah, I didn’t want to be a downer.

So, no headstock whammy?

Too bad. I’m tellin’ ya’ll, it would revolutionize the sound of rock and/or roll!
