NPAD - Kemper

Track 1- Better clarity.
Track 2- Warmer...less high end...

If I were to hazard a guess, and it would only be a guess, track one sounds like an amp mic’d with a condenser, and track 2 sounds like an amp mic’d with a dynamic(like an Audix I5).
I’d love to know what was the mic used to make the profile?...
...and what mic was used to record the amp?
Either way...this sounds good enough to convince me that profiling has come a long way Since I goofed around with early IR loaders.

I don't like 2 at all, no dynamic range, muffled and dull.

1 is better than before (so I'd keep that compressor off), but while the notes are nicely there perhaps the movement between them isn't quite there, yet?

To be clear, this is the same profile, recorded direct. The only difference is that one set of tracks is: Kemper>>Soundcraft>>Reaper; and the other set is: Kemper>>Ceriatone>>Soundcraft>>Reaper

There is also a different pickup selection, so just focus on the difference between the members of a set

Come on, Ray, next lot, I'm waiting here to be blown away... The last 1 was good. I suspect once you find out all the nuances of the Kemper there's a lot more in there.

I actually liked #2 better this time. #1 was a little too sharp, not just crisp and clear, but sharp and unpleasant to my ears.

#2 was not as muffled and I heard nuances that were missing in the first #2...

Note...#2 of #2 and not #2 of #3...confused yet?

Many of the profiles have notes that tell you exactly how they were miked and what mic's were used. Some even include
pictures of the amps and the settings. It depends on who made the profiles. Most of the ones that are sold have great detail!

The free ones and some that are traded or just made by the casual user don't have a lot of info...

Interesting questions, Don

You can see just how versatile and how many sounds you can get out of the Kemper! You can go direct, through a powered speaker,
through a power amp, through a guitar amp...and on and on...until you find the sound you want!
