NG Project!

I have no idea. I was thinking of trying it with one of two guitars of mine that I have finished in Tru Oil already, but with a very thin and satin to semi-gloss sheen. But which one should I do? Or, start a new addition to the arsenal? ... UGH!!!!!!! Maybe I should just dump a big bucket of cold water over my head!
OK, I will try it on one. I could always sand it back if it does not suit me. After alll, I am the guy with 2 guitar necks in progress and a galllon of Naptha handy!

OK Sysco, you know I could not wait and I figured you did not want to either so:

After 12 coats of straight Tru Oil

After sanding it back a bit

Real nice looking wood on the body and the necks look real good also. I bet you can't wait to get it all together so that your guitar collection can rise up to 70 guitars & counting. Time to build another new mini-warehouse Ray...you're going to need the extra space & a cute little helper!

If I had a warehouse full of guitars, nobody would ever see me again!

So, the headstock paint was turning out to be a hot mess. It had to go. I decided to take enough wood along with it to make the headstock take the stain this time

Now I will finish them off in the Tru Oil / Naptha mixture I made.

So, one of my bodies suffered a setback. In an effort to get out some remaining polish lines, "dry spots" developed (builders term) . Those spots need to be sprayed and re-polished. As cure time is 2 weeks, shipping is not anticipated until April 1.

Otherwise, I think it is really coming out nice and will be done right when all is said and done.
