That is a reasonable price for wood of this quality WITHOUT a crack IMHO. Solid walnut bodies with this figuring are not common. Other than a neck, I have everything else. I ordered an unfinished neck for $65 from China. It would have been a welcome addition to my family!
 
I like double cut, so yes.
I liked the other colour and grain more, so no.

Those counter sunk neck screw holes look in weird spots. My OCD would drive me nuts lookin at those neck screw holes.Im used to seein a metal plate to bolt the neck on..

"FORCED" as in he wouldn't refund you money, only allow you to change to another of his products?
I liked that last spalted top and then I changed my mind thinking the edges make it look like a bread board, sorry.
Buy the cracked beauty.
 
Id just put it together and play it hahaha. I dont have the patience to do fancy finishes. Looks good now :)

Not at all. I was being factious about being forced. I love it! I realize that spalted maple is an eclectic taste though.

I love the spalted timber, don't think it works with the dark edge.
Different strokes for different blokes :-)
