Nice crisp line.My bulk work is done. I am happy with it. A bit steeper than most, but perfect for me since I do not really have a belly - it is more of a "rib cut"!

Thanks! I am very happy!Nice crisp line.
Great job. Looks factory machined.
Thanks Chili !Shewie Ray, that was quick. I bet this will be a masterpiece when you finish.
Nicely done! When I did mine, I didn't have an expensive piece of exotic wood to worry about ruining. Must have been very stressful. I used mostly rasps for mine.My bulk work is done. Thanks Don. I am concerned that straightening it will only make it wider and it is already too wide. I am a bit defeated tonight. However, my depth is good and the cavity is very functionalRay, use 2 clamps and a straight edge the router radius away and you can get those edges straight.
In this type of the guitar making process, do you trim off the full perimeter of the cavity including the cover plate area first, and then dig out the rest of the cavity? My cavity route came out far less than perfect. However, there were no major mishaps, and the cavity is functional. Onward

Thanks.Depth & cover ledge look great Ray!
I'd straighten the edges like Don says, and just make a slightly oversize cover to fit the opening.
It'll be perfect.
You've got a nice belt / disc sander, Find an old pickguard in your stash, cut a piece to rough size & have at it.

Thanks! I had the luxury of holding it up to my body to see when it felt comfortable for my seated playing. I did not cut as much as others I have seen.Good work, RVA - looks lovely.
You've taken a lot off. I was trying to compare it with my tele cut:

You have beautiful looking wood, Sir, and quite the depth to the comfort cut.
That is what the pros tell me!In this type of the guitar making process, do you trim off the full perimeter of the cavity including the cover plate area first, and then dig out the rest of the cavity?
