New Guitar Project

After I get my hip replaced in April I should be back to 5' 9". I will actually go lower on weight if I can start cycling again and get in 6000-8000 miles a year.

Good for you, losing weight ahead of time. My wife head her hip replaced in October, and hit the gym for a few months ahead of the surgery. She was already in good shape, being a skater, but wanted to have strong muscles going in. She was back on skates in December, although not doing anything difficult. Tomorrow, she'll try skiing again for the second time this winter. Again, she won't be on any black diamond trails, but just out playing is good enough for her.

After about 30 coats, this one is ready to cure for 2 weeks before final buffing. In case you noticed the divot in the back, the wood started to split in layers as I was sanding. After it stabilized, I decided to leave it rather than sand all the way down. It is the character of the piece now.

Ray, did you save any saw dust from the route? I’ve used SD and a little elmers glue to patch things like that. Add the same stain while mixing, put more material in than needed and sand smooth.
Good idea, but unfortunately no. I routed before I sanded, so the dust was long gone.

RVA, This is really coming along nice.
Enjoyable to watch this progress.
I have recently started using a router, and there is some great advice here. I like to practice on left over wood.... it's clearly much more intimidating routing something you care about and have invested time in. Keep up the great work.
