Do it. Playing comfort is important.
Belt sander with 60 grit will make fast work of it.
Semi round wood rasp would work as well, just a bit more work.

Also for fine detail work like this, there always the CHAINSAW!!!

I am 100% on-board with this!!!and the draw-knife to clean it up....

I almost forgot about this one, Ray. A right angle grinder with a coarse flap wheel.


Removes material fast and can do a surprisingly good job of contouring wood.
I use these a lot.

I do have one of those!

My first ever wood working project was adding a kick tail to my 1st wooden skateboard. Glued in a wedge on the top of the tail in back, Used a Rasp for the underside curve.
