New Guitar Project

For straight edges, I always prefer templates, and putting the extra time into making sure they are good. Then a bit with a bearing to follow the template works great.

That’s how I do it too. Templates are the way to go. I was just commenting on cleaning up the straight edges. I use a 4ft yard stick ( :rolf: ) and clamps all the time for sawing and routing straight edges.

If it were me, I wouldn’t stain after midnight :rolf:

I nearly killed myself dead from my custom napalm bomb one winter. Thank God for friends.

I was refinishing a set of Pearl drums in Opal White Pearlescent 3 stage auto paint. Base/Pearl/ Clearcoat. I bought these all nicked up and scratched in a Piano Black factory finish and sanded to bare wood. Well, as many folks knew, I lived in my house nearly 17 years without a furnace or boiler in our Md winters. Often times it felt colder in my house than outside. Well this one night, I lit my wood stove and fired up my torpedo kerosene heater to speed up the warming process before bed. The 3rd leg in the troubles came when I found a partially open can of solvent based lacquer/clear/ hardener liquid, and in short order was feeling a bad headache and nausea.

Needless to say I called my friend to tell her I was en route ASAP to her house for refuge. I no sooner got in her door then I needed to puke in her bathroom. It was then that I felt I was pretty close to either asphyxiation or fumes poisoning to my lungs and brain.

Guess you all know I am way more careful these days. Glad I didn't die too.

See there, Ray, Blood Pressure is the tooth fairy compared to my self induced ways of inadvertently meeting my demise.
Made a Dr Appointment today, and it has come down some, so no one need worry my head might pop bfore I see him and get a script.

PS thanks guys. For now I am roughly 145/85. Lets hope it stays low enough till my appt.

That's not that bad. I can be 160s/90s without my meds. I quit taking them last summer when the refills ran out. Finally went to the doctor in January to get straightened out. This is a big part of why I quit drinking and went on a diet for the time being. I'm currently down to 174lbs from 215 and shooting for 150. Back on meds my BP is usually around 115/65. I feel much better mostly due to the weight loss.

Thank you, Cador.

I know the relationship between weight and BP, also diet and BP, and water consumption and BP.
I think that my quick adjustments have brought my numbers down since I started taking Magnesium and Postassium, CoQ10 and Garlic pills and other supplements. Had some multiple cups of Chamomille tea too.

Anyway, I will get it sorted. I have to. Strokes run in our family.

This is looking great, man! I was on the road last weekend and when I got back I saw this thread had moved on fast, took me a while to catch up.

That's great you got that clean line. When I did mine I did the tru-oil on top first because I was afraid the stain would bleed under my tape. You did what I was afraid to do by staining the back first and it came out great. Excellent job on the tummy cut, too!
