New amp day, EVH 5150

Well, I've had a couple of days with it now and this thing is pissing me off! It's so good it's taking the piss out of my other amps. :ugh: Well, almost...

The clean channel is killing both my Harvard clone and my SC20 low input doesn't stand a chance. From the cleanest cleans to getting just a slight breakup with an O/D is just amazing. And this is with a Les Paul. I really want to get my Tele back up and working now. I really never expected to like the green channel, but I absolutely love it! I've never had such a good time playing clean. I'm gonna have to change my name, lol.

Then on the blue channel I'm getting everything I've been getting out of my SC20 (with V2 Hot Mod), only better. From classic and southern rock to hard rock with pedals it's just awesome! I'm not as excited about the red channel, but I would be if I didn't already have it better. The red channel is awesome don't get me wrong, but it's not as good as my Lil' Devil for the high gain stuff. I'm actually pleased to know that my Lil' Devil sounds better for that. So for me it's all about the green and blue channels so far.

I wish I'd bought one of these a long time ago, but I didn't know. Honestly, I thought these were a gimmick. I don't anymore.

I'd kind of like to open her up and check the bias. Don't know if it's necessary, but it'll make me feel better knowing what it is. While I'm in there I might try the C137 mod, I can always put it back if it doesn't do it for me.

Same results here if you look at my reviews. I have not even really gotten to the high gain channel in 3 month yet-so darn good .. this is the most precise amp ever owned..gain is usable whole range,

The only thing missing now for you is the 6l6 version by Peavey.. the OG or Sig- then you will have every single amp need ever.. and they sit in dif spot so the ultimate 1-2 recording situation.it will even do skynyrd tones-or country-then smash you hard as needed in any drop tune.

Eminence speaker with 51550's huge American
Celestion- Classic british mid placement

No pedals required but they do so well with gain barely on then just kick it with a Klon or clean boost to get that princeton type edge of break at ughhh if you must even at bedroom whisper levels:rolf:
