I'm still wondering that myself, I thought 5150s were Peavey, but it doesn't say Peavey anywhere on it. Just EVH. Made in Mexico.

Congrats & 5150's are all i play now. On dif cabs anything from brilliant clean to edge of breakup to full out madness. Very good amps the Marshall i always wanted X10 Enjoy !
They were originally Peavey amps @BFT Gibson has some Peavey models(IIRC). Now the EVH stuff is a division of Fender music IIRC.

Eddie and Fender bought the rights to the 5150 line from Peavey a long time ago. Hence the new 5150 from EVH that looks very similar to the old Peavey 5150 and Peavey's own lineup not having that model anymore, for a long time.

Yep…looks like @BFT Gibson has two Peaveys, and a Fender…or “had”…I don’t know…his inventory changes at a pretty brisk pace sometimes.

EVH 5150 iconic el34(mind blowing from clean to edge of breakup to nuclear assault in drop tuning) responds to speakers amazingly to shift the placement & really responds to pickups from PAF to ceramic high out put, JB did a great job on the touch sensitivety on this amp front end.

Whats wild is got these to do the heavies but was just stunned how my music has gravitated to low mid gain marshally type songs recently. I can not get off the crunch channel with the gain under noon & then it responds to pedals for that push or non metal style saturation but that good ol think bluesy leads.

EVH 5150 Iconic el34, first song tried with it. Gibson LP using the bridge SD 59, when i got this amp,can draw a line where my upcoming songs are going to be so much more musical because of finding that "tone", it just comes out the amp so easily..really likes g12-65's & k100's

I played one, I thought it sounded pretty impressive. Nice grind crunchy i thought.EVH 5150 III EL34 50 watt. I'm still getting to know it, but so far it's fun!
Associated with Fender, should have pretty good parts and tech support as well.

I just don’t know why I didn’t buy the 40 w combo a year ago. Some random guy at GC heard me playing walked up and said , what song is that ? My reply , UFO. Let it Roll. I don’t contribute that to my playing but the tone of the 6L6 Iconic.

The way the PV is built, pretty retarded.
The circuit boards are "folded," to save production time and cut costs...makes it very difficult to troubleshoot or service.
When I first saw how these were built I was appalled. I was like, "wtf is this?"
Apparently (from what I heard) when Eddie saw how these were built, he abandoned PV out of frustration and disappointment.
The Fender 5150 is quite a bit better design than the PV.
So if you are buying one, IMHO skip the PV version.

NONE...EV speakers wanted the EVH lettering off the amp so PV had Eddie do a signature. The myth's are that something changed circuit wise. It did not. Early ones had dif tubes as the tube availability dilemma was starting to happen.
You can dial them in the same. Have 1 set bright for leads & other set heavy bottom for thump.
