Nerd/Zep alert - Gretta Van Fleet on SNL tonight

cool----I heard them over the intercom at Dollar General a couple weeks ago--- LEd Zepplin took 40 years to be "mainstream" Greta has done it before the lead singer is old enough to shave-----YEAH!

I really really tried to like GVF's SNL performance tonight, but I just couldn't do it. Guitarist Jake Kiszka's tone was awesome, but that's all I could hear. Don't know if it was a poor sound mix, or JK deliberately drowned out his band mates. Was Sam Kiszka, the bass player even plugged in? And I think I finally gave up on any tolerance I had for Josh Kiszka's voice.

Oh yeah... The ending sucked.

Too bad...

Their popularity is being driven by heavy propmotion and marketing.

It's been a long time sice the music industry has pushed a Rock band and I think they are attempting to revive things. But, purely from a money standpoint...

Just watched the SNL performance on YouTube...my god his vocals are terrible! And is he going out of his way to dress like a weird 60's hippie? Looks homeless...

I do like the band and I have bought their albums because I want young bands to succeed, but this was cringe worthy...

I’m wondering if the stage monitoring was as bad as the over air mix. In the electric tune, the massive bass rig was non existent, and the drums were a bit subdued. I could see this getting me flustered, as a singer/player. I’d have been quite frustrated and annoyed....then a bit embarrassed.
I’ve watched a couple of their live performance videos, from the Fallon show etc, and they’ve been pretty solid. But this SNL thing was not a good example of these guys.
I’m not a fan, but not a hater(I really liked Chris Cornell, and Soundgarden, and remember them getting flack for being a “Zeppelin rip off”...but these guys eclipse that, and seem to embrace it). I’d rather see more music in this vein succeed in the mainstream.
At least these guys don’t make me want to immediately change the radio station when they are played, they just make me want to go listen to some Zeppelin.
