I stopped at the 10th coat of Tru-Oil, which was 6 days ago. In a couple days, I'll start final polishing and buffing. Then finish the finish with gunstock wax.
Meanwhile, while the guitar was hanging around to let the Tru-Oil dry, I cleaned up the fretboard again by dressing up the fret ends with a StewMac Fret End Dressing File exactly like this one:
The results were very nice after I followed the filing with some hardcore #0000 steel wool scrubbing and some F-One fretboard oil:

I also painted the control cavity with black conductive shielding paint... 3 coats at 1 per day:

The shielding paint came in an 8 ounce can. I can do at least 25 guitars with what's left over. I think I'll take a cue from @Goldmember, who likes to paint your Yoohoo gold, and advertise: "May I paint your cavity black?"
That's pretty funny!LIKE!!
I quoted this just so I could "like" it a 2nd time!
That's pretty funny!
You two!Nicely done!

Really nice, Sysco.
Is it just me or do you like SGs?
I mean...I could be wrong, but I have this feeling...

It's going thru the "one coat of oil per day" phase. Today will be oil-coat #6. Probably do at least 8 coats. After the final coat, I'll let the guitar's finish cure for a full week. Then some delicate final polishing, hand buffing, and gunstock wax, before all the hardware and electronics go back in.
I got a custom TRC on order, that probably won't arrive for at least a month.
I also ordered an 8 ounce can of StewMac's conductive shielding paint. That should arrive this week.

I like you. You make me feel less crazy to design and build my own guitars.....
