Let's Talk About Picks!

I used to smoke Camel no filters ----that was a LONG LONG time ago
I smoked Marlboro Reds for years, then they made all the ciggies "FSC" and something was different and I didn't like em anymore. So I switched to Camel filters and smoked those for almost a decade.

Then I quit. For years.

In July of 2016, I had an accident on the farm that quite nearly cost me my left hand. I went home all bonkers on painkillers after my trip to the ER, and I fell off the wagon. That was a bad day, and I just wanted to have a smoke.

Fast forward to today and I'm a Marlboro guy again.

I hate cigarettes. I want to quit for good again, but it's a battle that I just don't feel like I can win at the moment. Also it's a battle that I simply don't have the will to fight right now.

Damned things.

I've used the thick 1.14 Dunlop Tortex for years. I recently tried Dava Control grip picks with a very similar feel. The red ones' have the same material as my Dunlops. The have a great rubber grip that works very well. It's hard to drop. There's a feature where as you hold it towards the tip, it feels firmer. IMO, it's partly hype. I do love these picks partly because they have a sharper point. I think these are by new no. 1 pick.

I always looked at the $$$$ --- total what you spend on smokes ---- take that $ total for 2 months lets say ---and go window shopping at what NEW GEAR you can buy with that same $$$$

Might make buying em a little less tolerable?

I stopped smoking (no lie--the first time--) when they went to 1.08 pr pack from .98 cents -- I said --- IM NOT PAYING MORE THAN 1.00 for them----
(then I got a divorce 11 years ago -- almost went bankrupt lost my "retirement nest egg properties" in the real estate bubble explosion-- and started again-- for a few months but again the $$$$ turned me away from them-- quick) being a cheap bastard does have its health benefits :)

Several years back, I had the :poo: scared out of me when I hurt my back..Long story short Dr., found high BP and a very small heart issue that would be fine but the smokes had to go...When I left I took my pack of smoke and gave em to the Dr., and NEVER LOOKED BACK...

He basically said, if I don’t quit I will be in a box 6’ under in 6 months...That was enough for me...
Its not easy quitting thats for sure..Especially when everyone around you puffs....

I was recently talking to a guy who pretty much smoked all his life. He said he had trouble breathing until he started vapeing. He had trouble walking. He's much healthier now at the moment.

I used Nicorette to transition off of chew 14 years ago. Took about 3 months to taper off. Worked great and I didn't even have to quit drinking.

I once used Copenhagen to transition off the cigs....but that didn't really accomplish much other than swapping one for the other. The addiction to nicotine was still there.

I tried som of those ecigs way back when and didn't care for them at all, but I have not tried any of the newer type that have the ejuice tank or any of that stuff yet. Maybe I should give it a go.
