I've disliked strats for decades, so...

My Bad................. Now I remember what I remember.

Seeing LP's or SG "without" rear access panels. In other words, front access to electronics like a Fender type.
The LP Supreme has no rear access panel. The controls aren't mounted on a pickguard or plate like Strats & Teles either. You have to feed everything in through the bridge pickup cavity; it's supposed to be a major pain in the ass. But the back is beautiful - flame maple, pristine and unsullied.

Edit - Ha! Just realized I responded to a two-year-old post.

I guess its all about the neck for me...I like Strats and everything about them, just never could bond with the necks.....Maybe one day I will run across one that has the slim neck I desire, than I can finally have one.

But I sure do like to hear one being played...

Have Musikraft make the neck of your dreams.

I would love to do something like that with a certain guitar, but putting it together is something I would SCREW up big time, unless I could get someone close like maybe Hack to put it together for me..

I have often thought about finding a guitar and have someone that knows, put the guitar of my dreams together..I might do that with the  SG  I am searching for and man would it ever be the best..
That has been my hesitance with an SG because I am just stuck on the slimmer neck design...
Maybe when I get a chance to go to one of the MOTM’s with Hack n SGE they can guide me in the proper direction since I am just GUITAR DUMB when it comes to putting one together...

Thanks for the advice Robert, I will look into doing so...

I would think so, but since I honestly do not know, other than by the feel I would say yes...

My Ibby’s are super thin.... And to think I have huge hands and like super thin necks is beyond me..

Get me those measurements when you have time....I think I would approach it like this...find the dimensions you like, get an SG or LP and carve the neck to match the comfortable neck you have on your Ibanez.

I was just looking at the title of this thread....I don't dislike Stratocasters - I dislike the wolftones and the thin, twangy nature of the single coils...

Narrow to be honest..
I like a slim neck all around...I know thats weird but thats just what I like the best..
You really need to wander down to Palmghetto & rub on a couple of mine.
I have a couple of Stratish guitars, a Lester double cut with P90's a Gretsch and an SG that have necks that will blow your mind.
Oh yeah a PRS too. They call it wide thin. I find it to be a great neck profile.
I've always gravitated to the smallish necks. I must be weird too.
