I've been banned from the Marshall Forum...

Brother Steve, I was looking at the ST20 again the other day...:sneaky:

I wish you'd hurry up and get it so you can help me decide if I need one! :bash:

:ROFLMAO:

...or if I want to go with the Ceriatone 20 watt Plexi. I'm leaning toward the Plexi, it'll cost less, and I don't have one. My Origin covers the same ground as the ST20. Whether or not the ST20 does it better or not is why I'm not ready to commit. What I'm thinking is, with the Plexi I can get a little beyond what I can get out of my Origin for metal tones, but I don't know that for sure.

If I were you Fitz, I'd never go back. Give them the golden middle finger.
With what I've witnessed there the past few days, it'll be interesting to see what it's like a week from now.
It's not the platform changes that are questionable.
They've had a few upgrades in the past that get the expected complaints.
People are inherently reluctant to change.

It's the drastic draconian culture changes that are seemingly being imposed at the same time under the guise of the new platform.
I think I poked the bear for reason to run from it.
It will never again be what it once was for me.
I'll miss it, but I'll only be missing what it used to be.

Everyone needs a Plexi.

The consulting bill is in the mail.

I'm sitting here right now forcing myself to not pull the trigger! I've had work coming in and I have the money, but I need to hold off until I know more is coming. I was going to do the kit and build it myself, but I don't think I'm up for it. I'll probably get the assemble amp minus the head shell and tubes.

I was just measuring my white Sourmash head shell (the Lil' Devil cab) to make sure it'll fit. It will, but the front panel opening isn't tall enough. I'd rather buy a new head shell, but that'll cost me. If I decide to use the shell I have I'll need Sourmash to make me a new front panel to use it. That probably won't be a problem, but I'd rather it be black. Decisions, decisions. :hmmm:

Is the headshell you need of the smaller variety?

That's a work of art.
If you mail me the face plate, I'll make the opening bigger. :yesway:

Yes it is. There's no way I could do that good of a job as shaky as I am now and I would always be questioning my work. Plus there's resale value should I ever want to sell it.

There are no measurements on the faceplate or chassis that I could find so can only go bu the over all amp measurements he list for complete amp in his head shell. I'm only assuming I'll need a taller front panel, but I also think the opening on my cab is too wide and that's probably not something you can fix without making a whole new one and retolexing. I'll have to wait until I get the amp to know for sure. My opening is 15 1/2" wide x 1 7/8" tall. The over all amp width in his head shell is 15 3/4" wide. I'm sure my opening too wide.

Forgot the pic. This is his standard 18 watt Marshall style cab, but he made it deeper for me to fit my chassis, which is the same depth as the Ceriatone cab.

The only forum I've ever been banned from was the Marshall Forum and it was after the last "upgrade", pretty much the same story as Fitz this time, pretty much the same scenario as what's happening now. I've held my tongue this time because I've been thru this before. I've been through several changes over there and it always went back to business as usual after a while, but this one seems different somehow.
