I asked Milo to watch for the UPS truck as it was "signature required", but I think he misunderstood.
Good thing I am off today.
It arrived undamaged and in very good to excellent condition, shows some play wear.
Some small fret dents down at the cowboy cords, but not deep.
Not sure if the black hardware is OEM or not.
Pretty dirty and had either 11's or 12's stiff as hell when I wiped it down tuned it up and did a shakedown run.
Everything works well, truss rod functional.
Pots a little stiff but not scratchy, responded well to some Deoxit Fader Lube.
Full size Alpha pots. Interesting the Vols are 500k linear and the tones 500k audio.
The sweeps are very usable but the vol feels a little different than the audio I am used to on most if not all my other guitars.
looks like someone added a bright cap / treble bleed to the neck pots. I like it a lot.
NOt sure if this is original; lot of extra length on the pick up leads as well.
I pulled the neck pickup but the plate has no markings.
Cleaned it up, checked / tightened hardware, new set 10-46, set up to my liking.
The nut is cut ok but the slots could be dialed in a little lower. Not today.
was breaking down the rig but took 1 pic. TRC is still off as I let it settle overnight.
The specs for this say the nut width is 1 5/8" but it felt like and I confirmed it is 1 11/16". Perfect.
We dont have a scale but I think it is around 8 lbs.
It plays and sounds great on first impressions.
I love everything about this guitar EXCEPT it has bad neck dive.
So does my Tele, so there's that.
The strap I chose to offset that is rough / suede on the back but it is still an issue I need to solve or we may have irreconcilable differences.
I want this to be a keeper badly.
If so, I will likely do a full fret dress to maximize playability, though I have no complaints on the current state of the fretwork.
