Incoming: Gibson LP Special

Funny you mention that...there was a snafu on my Les Paul Special and now I'm getting a Les Paul Junior instead!

The Junior is the much hated 2015 model, but still brand new old stock. Still has the plastic on the pick guard and
still has the robo tuners, which will be replaced and sold off...

Now I need to find someone local to do that routing I was asking about in the first place!

I've already had one of these 2015's in 2015. Mine was the Les Paul Special in TV Yellow. I loved the neck and I still have a
spare titanium nut, but I'm going to try the nut Ray suggested as well.

I already have replacement tuners on hand and I'll sell the robo-tuners to recoup some $$. I've had three guitars with the Robo
tuners and all three came off and were sold. Hell, that Blue SG Standard I had came with Min-E-Tune!

I want to route this for a neck pickup, but will hold off on that decision until I play the damn thing. Mine does not have the
original Spock case, but a new TKL case that's super nice!

I also ordered a Kinman Gold Foil P90 and a Lollar as well. They were to go in the Special so I have two to choose from if I
stick with the single pickup configuration...

I was aware of that and have had one in my shopping cart for well over a week! The one I found here was quite a bit of a discount...$800 out the door!

He's giving me the 2015 Junior with a TKL hard case for $600, but I don't feel it's near as good of a deal...
That is a nice deal.

Consider keeping the guitar intact. Having one pup makes you explore tonal variations more creatively, and you will be surprised at what you come up with. It is a good exercise

Very nice! Seems to be the year of the Special/Junior. I got one of the new TV yellow Specials earlier this year (it has the wraparound bridge and neck binding) and I am digging it. Still not sold on the P-90's but the guitar itself is spectacular. It may get some mini-humbuckers in it down the road.

Congrats Ray!! That is a real beauty and another I would really like to have.
I'm really partial to wood tone finishes over solid paint.

Anyone think Leslie looks like Andre the Giant in that pic?

I can never quite get the gritty bite in the Mississippi Queen tone.
If the lead tone sounds good the rhythm / power chords are way too saturated and compressed.
If the power chords sound better, the lead notes sound too clean.

I need to play around with winding back the bass pot on the 18w TMB and using the mid hump / bass cut of the tube screamer I think.
And, I have not yet become accustomed to toggling pedals on and off while playing songs, ie lead boost ,etc. I usually set what I want and play.
