The mask was so captivating, I did not look closely enough at the guitars on the wall, as hard as that is to believe. That is such a fine selection. Both classy and bad ass! The white SG is rather unique looking. I wish you did not live so far away.
I saw and thought pretty much the same thing. The mask was so captivating, I did not look closely enough at the guitars on the wall, as hard as that is to believe. That is such a fine selection. Both classy and bad ass! The white SG is rather unique looking. I wish you did not live so far away.
I say at this point let it set for a few days, knock the finish down all over by hand with some #600 wet, especially the top.Coincidentally, my backup can of poly is coming today. Although I said I was done coating, I am tempted to give it another shot. Should I leave it at thick enough, or go for another session of spraying? At present, I am at 2 and 1/3 cans, but I did not get all I could have out of one full can as I was cautious and farther away than I needed to be (practice and learn, right?). What say you all?
Thanks. So I have been dry sanding with 400 grit between each day of coating so far. That is 5 days of coats, so 4 sandings. When I am done, I do progressive wet sanding, the plan here being 600-800-100-1200-1500-2000. Since that is a lot of grades, I wanted a thick shell to protect against burn through. So I was going to go for 1 more 400 dry sand and coat. Does that make sense?I say at this point let it set for a few days, knock the finish down all over by hand with some #600 wet, especially the top.
Then give it another coat. Should come out fairly glassy then.
Funny! Now even close! I still must buff, drill for hardware, knock in the bushings, wire it up and fabricate a nut. Then a set up. Yikes! You should be playing that thing by tonite huh RVA ????![]()

Very nice of you to say that. You're welcome over here anytime. The white SG is rather unique looking. I wish you did not live so far away.

The Rivera is a Quiana 4x10. A killer, 2 channel, 50 watt Beast. Yeah, I love my Mancave... a total shrine to myself. That oxblood Rivera amp caught my eye as well.
What a wonderful man cave.
Its pickguard has been temporarily removed. I'm waiting for Creamtone to make a one-off for it. Thread to follow once the project is complete.
Oh Hell Yeah... :dood:Also looking forward to Gibson doing a classic with P90s some time soon (Pelaham Blue, white binding, locking tuners, please with nitro and a case around the $1200 mark); 2018 range?
Totally.Thanks. So I have been dry sanding with 400 grit between each day of coating so far. That is 5 days of coats, so 4 sandings.
