High Voltages After Headfirst Origin 50 Mod

Whatever you want to call it, it is a standard circuit design. I'll rephrase what I posted earlier: Jason Tong probably and most likely forgot to draw in those two caps when he posted his hand-drawned schematic of the Origin 50. Those two caps are there in your Orgy 50!

So is a greater level of noise reduction possible with different values???

The 47pf or 50pf "fizz" cap between the PI plates is intended to reduce any high frequency "fizzy" content (on notes) & prevent them from being passed onto the power tubes, so "hiss," being up in the same frequency range is also reduced.
You can go to a larger value fizz cap, just be aware that you can start to remove harmonic content (& high end) if you go too large. I've used a 100pf fizz cap, but not tried any larger.
Hope this helps. Cheers

Very cool set up that sounds pretty good. You need to bolt down your stuff that's hanging on your walls... :bang:

It's a great, controllable rig, but it just lacks that "edge" that I hear in Jason's version, and I'm not able to produce it with pedals thus far...and this demo is with the TS-9.

My wife warned me about knocking her pictures down. I only crank it when she's out of the house.

Yes.
I guess I can go back and look too, but I was a bit too lazy last night to do so... :giggle:

No personal experience with the Rivera's Venus series of amps, but the few videos I've seen are very impressive. I do own a Rivera Quiana (50 watt, 6L6's, 2 channel, 4x10 combo), that does the Fender/Marshall combo very well. The Fandango is about the same as the Quiana but operates on EL34's. Some Venus's are based on 6V6's, some are 6L6's, and some have EL34's. The Chubster and the Clubster have similar topologies too.

I’ve been looking more at the Rivera stuff.

It looks very interesting. It seems like a well- thought amplifier and not gimmicky.
