Wow, way cool! What about the BOSS Katana 50?
The Vyper does everything, except sound good. That may be why you can get it so cheap. I would suggest you try one first.Correct me if I am wrong but the BOSSS is mostly a pedal modeler more than an amp modeler?????
DAVE---- I played yours for a few minutes --- but I dont recall>>
I am going to say----here is my thinking at this time---
I can get a VYPYR for the least out of pocket ( I can find them for 70-90.00 used. for the 30 watt 1x12 less for the 1x10 ) and TRY the Peavey Modeling system.
1 of the features that I like on the vypyr is ----it does Acoustic AND BASS amplification---
it also allows the use of 5 "pedals" at one time--- most modeling amps max at 2 at the same time....
The Holidays are around the corner---- and "specials" discounts coupons and online STUPID DEALS OF THE DAY will be coming fast and furious.....and I can (if the gas still exists) try a CODE then![]()
BUt I HAVE Fender Mustang--- I am looking to something different......![]()
Given this thread was about a Marshall and based on Marshall GAS in general, I would have to agree with this. Why get a Peavey when you want a Marshal. Just save or wait for the price to drop.Do the Marshall 50 watter and don't look back.
You like Marshall's and that's what it models - sounds like a great match up for a Marshall fan that likes modeling amps to me.
Sure, the Kats have that feature based on BOSS effects pedals. But they have a few amp sims that nail it very well. A couple of the sims are very Marshally. One being capable of from Plexi to super-pushed Plexi, ala early EVH. The other sim in the Marshall area sounds like the more modern and crushing metal of the JVMs. I got a chance to demo a Kat 50 about a month ago, and I was very impressed with what it can do at low volumes for $200. As much as I wanted to buy one, I'm fighting hard to hold out for another amp build, that'll cost me 5 times as much.Correct me if I am wrong but the BOSSS is mostly a pedal modeler more than an amp modeler?????
And there, you have it...A friend of mine who is an LP/Marshall guy bought a Code 50.
It sounds terrific (if you like that LP/Marshall thing that is).
