For the Strat Haters...Think These Pickups Might Sway you???

I don't know that guys name but I know he is a classless jerk off! He got in big trouble. Again I don't know what he did but I like to see him go away.
I saw two of his videos and he has metal problems.

What's odd is that it took from 1988 until 2005 for you to decide the Strat wasn't for you...that's like a long marriage and a messy divorce! But, you found true love...

Where as I just started dating 4 years ago and was trying all the girls out and decided on the long legged one with a tight "G" String...

Back then, times were not easy. I was lucky to have my cheap Squirecaster, but I never bonded with it...ever

Not really...while I find the body shape very comfortable, the thin necks, longer scale and single coils just don't feel or sound right to me.

Now, I did produce a few Strat-esque guitars, with 24.75" scale, 12" radius fretboard with thick, 1958 Les Paul style necks and twin humbuckers, but even then, it didn't sound or feel as familiar as my Gibson's.

For me, nothing feels or sounds as good as a fat-neck Gibson with (good) Gibson pickups. When I pick up a guitar, I want the familiarity of a well worn shoe, not something that feels foreign and unnatural...and I don't like that higher frequency tone/twang effect the longer scale produces.

Make sense???

So...my attempt at therapy failed.

Ah well...

I guess some labors of love just never pan out.:p

the SC sized HB are a great idea and add a ton more config. choices.

I dont hate any type of guitar; I appreciate what works for someone else may not be for me.
I'm getting itch for a Banjo again too.

When Burt Reynolds passed or anytime I am reminded of Burt, I automatically think of Deliverance, and the Banjo boys, then Dukes of Hazzard and Catherine Bach's shorts.
Sometimes I just skip right to Cathy's shorts.
Ayy Yaie Yaie.

When you look for a banjo check out the lower priced Epiphone open back 5 string. I think it is EP 100. I had one for years and years. They go for under $200 bucks and are one of the best deals. I was given a bantar that is fun, it's one of those nutty Chinese brands that they are forever comparing to Gibson products. Mine is a SX or some truly crap from Guitar Fetish, black stockings and rubber diaper included. You know if you ever played a banjo that it is an art on it own.

Played a buddy's ganjo (aka bantar ?) a few times. Cool instrument in the right application. Cheers

You are correct! My friends that are true banjo players hate bantars with a passion. The few times I had to play a real banjo I hated it. I felt the the only squirrel in a ballet class. A guy is standing in the stage right of me playing my Les Paul burst and drinking Martel Cognac. I have this hillbilly on a stick and drinking clear stuff that probably came from a cooling system of a John Deer. No name and no label. Rolls that took me forever to learn. It did sound like Buffalo Springfield's Blue Bird. I got sloppy and started to flat pick the bitch and the cast of Hee Haw were in my night mares.

I have a mix of 25.5 and 24.75 scale guitars. I like both scales. I love Stratocasters and Telecasters. I guess I like Fender more than Gibson. I play my Teles and Strats more than others. I like them all though. No guitar hate here.
