Ever have one of those...?

I got lucky, i went to GC just to look around and saw this head marked for 99$. I thought that had to be a mistake, so I asked the sales rep that was walking around if there was something wrong with it, he said no, just trying to get rid of it.

In any case, I spent some time on the Dinky. I tried to hook up the spare volume and tone pot from the other EMG set but that didn’t work, ended up trying to replace the Circuit Buss, (the thing I kept calling a relay) that didn’t do it either. I looked at the jack again, nothing came disconnected, everything is tight, nothing bent out. I basically ruled out the entire cavity... so I sent EMG an email telling them everything I tried, what it’s doing, that percussive sound when flipping the blade switch, maybe just maybe they know exactly what’s going on based on my attempts, because now I’m out of options on what I can do.

so that was my first thought in trying to do. so went to my mulitmeter and found that it is absolutely dead...which is when I went and tried to unplug and plug in the spare parts (thank god for the quick connects).

These pickups ground internally, as I am sure you know...but it seems odd to me that both pickups would fail simultaneously.

What happens when you alter the position of the pots???

Thats my thought as well, which is what is really throwing me off. I heard of EMG's failing but usually it's just one not both and altering the positions doesn't seem to do anything both diming it out or slowly going all the way to "0" not a sound. I tried jiggling wires and get nothing, now yesterday i did manage to get a very weak output from the pickups for a few seconds and then it was gone, but never could recreate it, i messed with each individual wire, moving them around, nothing. I did forget to mention, that for a brief second the pickups seem to of picked up some sort of radio signal but that only lasted for a few seconds as well and never could recreate it.
