Ever had an unfortunate accident with your guitar

Poor ol' dogs always get the blame...
Look, he IS truly sorry. Thought they were for him. A guy told me a story (take the heat off dogs) that he came home from work, and before he opened the door, he heard the strangest sound. Listened for a bit, went inside, and discovered his cat playing his guitar (on a stand) and singing, to boot. The cat was actually plucking the strings, not in the right direction of course, because it was a damn cat, but the critter actually ended up doing it regularly. I said "I hope you bought him his own guitar"! And the guy said, of course, "That was it". He was really bummed he didn't get a video.

Well a couple of years ago my buddy and I were sitting around my campfire playing for a small group of friends. Everyone was having a good time, but there was a Woman who was having a really good time if you know what I mean. Well we continued playing then a little while in between songs my buddy laid down his Fender acoustic beside him on top of his case. Well this Woman got up from her chair and approached my buddy she went to hop up on his lap when we heard this enormous crunch. She stepped on his fender acoustic snapping the neck right off. There was a big silence my buddy and I just looked at each other and he said to me that puts a damper on things. Wow I was speechless I felt so bad for him. The woman's husband got up took his wife and went home. That's not the end of it they never even offered to pay for it. Can you believe that! If that had of been me do that there would have been an apology plus a check right away. My buddy used to hang around with them at the campground. Since this happening they no longer do. Til this day they have never seen a dime from these people. Its hard to believe.
The chick in this story...the chick leaping to jump in your friend's lap....not her husband's lap...only to snap the neck of the guitar and then leave with her husband? Man, this sounds like one bad nightmare.

Yeah, the kind where he should always leave her at home.

ASAP I am buying cases or wall hangers (60 yr old house and I can find studs). I'm standin, on shaky ground. Two guitars, one stand, one chair, 2 cats I did not ask for. I musta done something REALLY bad . . .fixin 2 B 3 guitars-no hope of 0 cats, unless I get that Mastiff . . .who probably eats whole guitars, screw the strings-
B4 the cats, I woke up one morning, and the LP had a gouge on the face, down and up a little from the bridge, looks like a minor screwdriver, but I have never taken a tool to that babe. It remains a mystery. Called my friend, almost crying, and he said "Not to worry. That's where the mojo comes in".

I had a painful mishap with this beautiful SGsg 1-490x653.jpg

I was thinking of playing all day. I couldn't wait to jam on that fretboard. I knew I had limited time.... when I walked in the house I tossed my keys and sprinted up to my jam sanctuary.

I opened the door, and there she was, gleaming. I quickly grabbed her by the neck, and that's when it happened. To this day I don't know how, but I felt my beloved SG slip thru my clutches....strait to the ground. It hit ass end on the wood floor, and miraculously bounced back up to my waiting grip. the damage was done.

It actually wasn't too bad considering. But it didn't feel good. I had that sick feeling for a week. My poor SG, scarred for life!!
But at least, no neck snap, and It still jams like a champ.

Oooweee. That hurt.

Put your guitars where you want them, don't be dictated to by studs.
"Wall Mates" if fitted correctly into sound plaster will hold any guitar and hanger.

Just turned around and took this from my office chair, do they look even or dictated to by stud placement? :-)
BTW, that's some of my wife's collection, mine are elsewhere.

WOW. Thanks for the advice, even more for a look at her collection !! What do you call the guitar to the right of the low hanging acoustic? Tin top? Gibson? An oldie, eh? It's magnificent. Again, thanks for letting me be stud free. I like things asymmetrical, personally

gasket, is that a Segull m4 dulcimer on the left?

Not sure of your "m4" name?
We call it a Seagull Merlin.
Tuned D, A, double D.
Fretted similar to a dulcimer.
My dear wife loves it. I have to stick with 6 strings EADGBE or I get lost even further.

What do you call the guitar to the right of the low hanging acoustic?

It's called a Gretsch Honey Dipper, steel biscuit resonator.

Google said this ...
"What is a biscuit resonator?
A resonator guitar or resophonic guitar is an acoustic guitar that produces sound by carrying string vibration through the bridge to one or more spun metal cones (resonators), instead of to the sound board (guitar top)."

They're still available new, that one is about 3 years old. I have plans to pull it down to it's components, have refinished a different colour and upgrade the biscuit and cone.
