EPI Les Paul Standard LQ Series

Shielding paint. Such a simple thing. All imported guitars have it and are quiet. But Gibson still "builds them like we did in the 50's," when there were no cell phones and tons of EFI/RFI....SMH
The paint application could have been a bit neater but, yes, it is definitely there. I don't have noise issues at the lower volumes I play at home but will find out how quiet it truly is tonight at rehearsal.

Nice!!!!

My new long shaft pots wont get delivered until Monday, so I am digging through my take out "junk" to find enough scrap pots to build a temporary harness so I can break this in at rehearsal on Saturday!!!!

Sorry for the temporary derailment.

@Robert Herndon , I have a 2017 Les Paul Classic, love it!

Here's my dilemma, as I'm just starting to get into the modern recording thing, I'm starting to notice a quiet hum- interference on playback.
Would paint shielding help my Paulie during recording?

Def not into changing any aspect of tone, timbre, volume etc... sure wouldn't mind a lower noise floor.

Interested in your opinion. Thanks for your time.

Yes. I fought that buzz/hum issue on all 5 of my new (unshielded) Gibson's...but mine would also pick up two-way radio, cell phone conversations an a FM radio station.

The shielding totally knocked all of that...

I didn't want to change the tone of my 2016 Gibson Les Paul 50's Tribute either...I even retained the PCB!!!!
