Custom Mahogany 2X12 Cabinet Speaker Choices:

It’s not that big of a deal given the high input impedance of the amp. Measure the capacitance, that’s what really counts in effecting treble roll off.

Good point...

I was just tripping out when I wasn't seeing values that I expected.

@Don O - would I want to use switched or non-switched jacks for this cabinet???

Here's some self-education reading I found about speaker cables...

Excellent work !! Inspired to pull the Jensen's out again. Have them both in oversize 1x12's currently.

Nice!!!!!!

The guy who bought my #1 DSL40C brought me the empty cabinet back. He converted it to a head with a Mission Engineering conversion cabinet.

I saved my 10 pound WGS Reaper 55hz speaker from that amp. If I can figure out how to make a lightweight front/upper panel, it will give me a single 12" extension cabinet for $0.00...

Oh, you are talking speaker cables, that’s a horse of a different color. Resistance in speaker cables will effect the output volume.

How are you wiring the cab? You posted it somewhere but I forgot where.

Here's the diagram I used. Works correctly when the switch is activated, but in "8 ohm" the actual reading is about 7.2 ohms and in "16 ohm stereo" the actual reading is about 19.8 ohms.

Do you get 19.8 ohms on both the left and right when the switch is in the B position?

Honestly, I can't remember exactly.

With the Rocker switch In 'Mono' the right jack is totally disconnected and the readings on the left jack were just below 8 ohms.

When I throw the switch to 'stereo,' the value jumps up to a little over 16 ohms...

When the switch is in the stereo position measure both left an right as the speakers are now on separate signal chains. You are just measuring each speaker.

Also, in looking at the Cliff stereo switched jack, you could eliminate your switch by using the Cliff jack for the right jack and use its switches.

Ahhh....Ok...

I will go with non-switched then so I don't have to change everything.

I was super disappointed with this Neutrik commercially made speaker cable...

I decided to build my own cable...

Funny that my home made cable does not have 14 ohms of resistance...
