Oh, that looks sweet Ray. So I'm learning, how do you know that frets needed leveling and what exactly does that mean?
Thanks Don!

So you know it needs leveling if you are getting buzzing or dead notes at normal actions and releif. A way to do it without playing the guitar is by performing the following check:

Make the neck is dead straight via the truss. The best way to see if it is straight is by using a notched straight edge. Once level, mark the top of each fret with black marker. Then give it a swipe with your leveling beam. If, after a few swipes, the marker is not coming off the frets evenly (ie- you miss all or part of a fret or frets) keep sanding until all the marker is gone .

Thanks Ray. A leveling beam, I think I need a new tool now :D
I recommend an 18" beam, not the small blocks. You can get a straight beam, but I recommend a raduised beam (opinions carry on this, but I think most prefer radius). Unfortunately, a radiused beam means you need one in each size. I have an extra 7.25" that is up for swap if you want to get started

You also need a notched straight edge if you don't have one., in 24.75" and 25.5" scales. They also, make a 25" for PRS

Looking great!
Same here on the color choice.

I would add when I take the first passes with the leveling beam I assess if either the middle or toward both ends seem to be cutting off the sharpie disproportionately to verify what my eyes are telling me is flat.

I had to sand the pocket to get the neck to fit, so it is a tight sqeeze right now. The spacing should be interesting because it was routed for traditional tele pups, but as you can see, I had them re-route it for HBs before they sent it out. I bought an HB/Tele bridge that matched the prior strings and bridge drill holes exactly, so I am hoping it all goes smooth!

That's great your neck is tight in the neck pocket for a real good connection. Your guitar will sustain for days!:celebrate:

I got a notched straight edge. I need to do a little homework on the leveling beam. What would I use on compound radius necks? I have 4 Warmoth compound necks now for projects.

Leave the mineral streak alone. Nothing really ya can do about whats in the wood itself. It adds character. Stain looks great. Are ya going gloss finish ?
