Are all P90's created equal?

Tony----do you not find the reparte sparkling and intriguing?

We just funnin man--- I like to keep Ray sharp for his legal argument battles--- its like sparing with a buddy before the big fight ;) And I like to be tested to NOT lose my temper and call people horrible names and punch clients in the head ----even though some days I REALLY WANNA PUNCH CLIENTS IN THE HEAD----Im not allowed--- so again--- practicing zen yumminess.

PErhaps these posts should start with

AVERT YOUR EYES TONY!!!!!! ????

Bullshit.
You're both acting like 8 year olds and now you're
trying to justify it with this sparring nonsense.

Ray doesn't like non adjustable pickups.
Adrian likes them just fine. Good for both of you.
Tony M. thinks all P-90s suck moose dick because they hum.
They sound nice but the hum makes them not worth it.
Come to think of it single coils suck too, unless the
guitar has a hum killing active circuit in it.
Good for Tony M. too.

Go play in your sandboxes.

And Hackmaster likes P90 sets, adjustable or not.
RWRP P90 sets don't hum when both pickups are selected.
And they just sound badass.
Only the single ones have an issue with hum.

Vs and Explorers:
I find them to be uncomfortable.
Huge slab guitars with points sticking out
all over the place are not my cup of tea.

doesnt 8-15 different pedals in a signal chain create as much or MORE hum than P90 guitar plugged into a tube amp?

Most definitely freinds with Adrian. I have a deep affection for him, and we test the thickness of each other's skins.

Okay... that's good then.

You see...the rest of us thought you were fighting...'cuz...it looked like.... you were fighting.

Adrian agree on one thing for sure, and that is life is too short and complicated to get upset about anything that does not truly matter in life. P90s do not qualify. While I will avoid dog ear pups where possible, I am not as passionate about the topic as my discourse with Adrian would suggest!

Smitty and Dave would know
the answer to this question..
Me, I have no idea.
The largest pedal board I ever had
was 5 pedals big, including the tuner.
If one is using that many pedals live,
maybe some of them are being used
for only 1 chorus in 1 song?
I can see that when recording, but live the part
will arrive and be gone before anyone notices.
I say leave that pedal in the studio.

This goes back to this old thing.
"I need X amp and XXXXXXXXX pedals to get 'my sound'".

"A guy walks into a bar jam with a Marshall half stack..."

Also, if the pedal board is set up correctly and
used tastefully, hum would not be an issue,
unless one is using sucky P-90s or single coils.

This made me chuckle.
I completely agree with you Tony.
I hate hum from anything. P90's or singlecoils.
It drives me nuts, I like a lot of gain, and gain really exaggerates the hum.
But I've learned how to harness it. Multiple coils & RWRP.
I've never been one to embrace the hum.
Probably why I'm not a Strat or Tele fan.
