Are all P90's created equal?

I have a Tele type husk here just waiting to be "hacked".
It's an old 60's Japanese beater. Could name it Godzilla...

Looks more like Mothra, to me.

Original question, "Are all P90's created equal?"

My std Casino has Chinese Epiphone P90's.
My Gary Clark Jnr has US Gibson P90's.
Even as a novice player I can hear the difference, the US Gibson's are way cleaner.

The funny thing is my ears can't tell a bit of difference between the Asian Artec alnico, the Lollar alnico
and the stock Gibson P90's in my older doublecut.

Maybe it's my hearing, or maybe they're just that close in construction that there is no discernible difference.

Maybe all those pups have Alnico 5 magnets. The Gibson certainly does. Lollars come with A5's, but their "50's Wind" use A2's.

The p90 in the prs I had was monstered by the BK Nantucket I replaced it with. The two semi-pros who played it before and after also agreed it was chalk and cheese with regard to string dynamics and string clarity/definition.

This may just be the case, Sysco.
Didn't know the Gibson's were Alnico 5 as well.
Hmmmmm....

dunno the answer ---but I know this one is MAGIC

note the pedal Hack?
I dig the color coordination between the cable strain relief shrink wrap and the paint on the Grail.

That's one sweet hunk of genuine Gibson hog, for Epiphone $$$.
Killer score Mr. Ferengi, seeker of deals.

Just noticed the fixed pole pieces. How interesting.
Would indeed hamper string to string adjustment. But we won't go there.
