aon's clean instrumental stuff

Huh, it's been a while. My wife requested this and it took me a while to decide on which arrangement to steal, and I accidentally deleted the backing track once while working ont it :( Also got a new cab sim and new pickups for the strat so that took a couple of nights, I think the tone might still need some dialing in ... anyway,

Nice playing and great Strat tone. I feel like I’m watching you in a mirror though :rolf:

Thanks guys!

Yeah watching lefties play guitar (or do anything else for that matter) looks weird to me as well :)

Anyway, here's another one:

Weird thing happened. I was having problems with the double stops, until I hit "record" and then they were fine. Usually it's been the other way around. I guess that's progress..

Great songs, both. Love the Theme to Exodus. One of our local guitar heros, Preston Wayne does a killer version of that song. It's best on the album What About Time, by the Time Beings, but here's a cool version with The Preston Wayne Four. He's a great player, and I was able to share the stage with him twice. One with the PW4, and once with The Time Beings. He was also in DMZ. I'm really lucky after all these years to call these guys my friends.

Nice, thanks! I'll try to dig up that album from somewhere.

Worcester, MA eh... I was in Sturbridge for work in 2019. Really liked it there. Who knows, maybe some time again when all of what's going on is over.

Sturbridge is in a nice part of the state. When I would drive home from working in Connecticut, I would usually stop in Sturbridge to go to the Pioneer Brewery and BT's Barbeque. Now, one of the most popular breweries in the state (Tree House) is in Sturbridge. If you have a chance to work there again, you'll not be far from Northamptom to check out some good music and cool guitar stores, as well as Worcester. There were some amazing rock clubs in "Worm Town", but the only one that's left now is Ralph's. They are trying to do outdoor shows now as a regular thing, not just for the car and bike shows. If you make it back here, we'll definitely have to get together for a few pints.

For sure!

I don't think I've ever seen as much snowfall in a single day as I did back there (I think it was in February?)... being from Finland that's saying something I guess :)

I'm pretty sure I found the recorded version of Exodus by The Time Beings once already on some streaming site but I lost it again and can't find it again. Or maybe I was dreaming. I think it reminded me of the Halibuts' version somewhat:

Anyway, here's a local thing I recorded last night. Surprisingly tricky, not much time to rest in this one:

Hey man that was some sweetness to my ears , nice sound and i like your picking! Can i get similar tone with hum-backers? You know im on chug side and all my guitars are humbacker loaded. Looking to cover some Plump fiction Theme tune, but i want to metalaze it some parts (i cant help it dark forces are at work) :)

It's hit or miss for snow around here. Some winters, nothing. Then February 1, WHAM! A foot of snow in a couple of hours. Or, it snows all winter. Or, nothing but rain. You'd think that you were in Old England, not New England. There's something about the hills around the Sturbridge and Worcester areas. They get the heaviest snowfall amounts in the state.

If you ever listen to Little Steven's Underground Garage, they get occasional airplay with the various DJs there.

Should be possible to get pretty decent tones out of humbuckers, although it probably won't sound exactly like a strat single coil. If you have coil split that should add a bit more versatility.

I don't know what guitar Nokie Edwards is playing here but it does have humbuckers. Sounds quite twangy though so might be coil split? At least his latest "hitchhiker" signature models had SD humbuckers with coil split according to some interview I saw..

Feels to me like for getting balls in a clean tone it helps to run the amp as loud as possible without distorting, and to EQ in quite a lot of mids and highs... This has the downside that most overdrives will turn the sound to a really loud unusable mess (at least for home listening). Everything is a trade-off... for example heavier gauge strings seem to improve the tone but once you end up with a wound G, bends become quite difficult. It's not even purely a strength issue, you just run out of space on the fretboard :)

i have to play around to find good tone , way i have aMP set up on clean its sound bassy and flabby, i want twang twang twing , i have single coil on middle position on my strat copy but it sounds like hair from ass.. what effects do have on the video reverb and delay?
cheers

oh by the way do you take request for song? i like this tune can you cover it pleaseeee
if you do ill love you forever :)))))

what effects do have on the video reverb and delay?

Guitar -> (boss tuner) -> amtech age-1 echo (analog tape echo "simulator") -> dod fx80b compressor -> fender blues junior with the slightly crappy built in spring reverb turned about halfway up -> two notes torpedo loadbox/cab sim with ownhammer Vox 2x12 open back cab/celestion gold/sm57 impulse response...

I haven't really experimented with other IR's after getting the torpedo except the celestion alnicos. I do like their sound more than the Eminence Cannabis Rex that's in the BJr. The gold sounds the best to me but the blue and cream aren't really that far off. I have the files for some greenbacks and vintage 30 as well, guess i should try those at some point...

The compressor is pretty subtle but it does boost the signal and is supposed to make the echo louder when playing louder. For strictly surf I'd probably turn the echo off and have just the reverb. I'm looking into getting something for more "surfy" spring reverb eventually..

Surf Rider is on my list of songs, I'll look into it :)

I mean, I have a tele that's not red and a strat that's red but not a tele... That's almost the same as having a red tele right?
Not exactly. I see a red Tele in your future to match your avatar. It's the TTR way. You know you need a red Tele.
