You know what happens to that little friend in the end right? Dont let me spoil the ending for you hahahLet me introduce you to my little friend
I think id rather have a Strat most of the time, but i do like the Teles and i made that one work for years lolMy long ago friend Mark played a tele it was his favorite instrument, but their band before they got signed, sounded like a cross between Zep an Priest, after they got signed they changed their music to a bluesy hard rock sound, and their name.
But I have never been partial to a tele.
My grandson is the one whom loves the teles...
Cheers

You see Tele is bad news....I'd also rather have a Strat. I have two Teles, and I'm still trying to make them work for me.

King of the surf guitar.I think i'll just keep posting in a single thread instead of making a new one each time
Here's Karelia by The Spotnicks, now with video:
The biggest problem is, I can't get them to sound like the Tele sounds in my head. I'm sure that an Orange Squeeze Compressor would help. But I just can't get it to sound like the Tele honky-tonk guys like Bill Kirchen, Redd Volkaert, or Roy Buchanon. Can get ok rock sounds, but I'd rather use a Gibson for that.
And that shall be his name upon the sacred day! Let it be written!King of the surf guitar.
Or rather,
Ambassador of the Surf Guitar.
I largely agree with that lol i use my tele for lots of non tele sounds more than i should probably. It is fun though for some dirty Rolling Stones or even some Aerosmith stuff! The biggest problem is, I can't get them to sound like the Tele sounds in my head. Truthfully there's not too many guitars i just out right hate, least not any of the mainstream designs. Im not a fan really of 7 and 8 string guitars because thats not my style and i always associate them with the Nu Metal movement like Limp Bizkit and Korn. Beyond that? I like most anythingI have always been a Strat guy and i continue to play my Strat, I played many Tele's over the last 6 years and always wanted one but couldn't get the right tones and looks that i wanted, so after investigating over the last 8 months , i had one made that has all the gear that i chose, i get all the tones that i want, the guitar is one of a kind it has a 5A Maple top which is rare and very hard to find, the builder said chances of getting that again is next to nil. They have a very hard time finding 4A Which they say are rare as well. I didn't want a tray Bridge, and i didn't want a pickguard. And the build Quality and playabilty is like nothing i have experienced in any guitar. And i have never been a fan of single pickups in Tele's that give a tinny sound, with Humbuckers its like gravy and fries, it just takes the right combination to find what you want. I am a happy Tele player now, this guitar will play a wide range of music and could be my only player for sure. But i will keep playing my Godin guitars which are great players .![]()
My left arm has been completely shot for a while, was so bad that I couldn't even really type for a few days, let alone play... but it's getting better. First try with the homebuilt blackface:
Really nice tone and playing fantastic job, I only have one complaint, can you hide that thing, the thing that standing against the wall ?its big no, no for me

Maybe we should all record with Teles this week...maybe the next thing I record needs to be with the tele...
