Are you sure they are the same guitar? Did he change the fret markers too?
That looks amazing and the shine is awesome. It certainly is making me lean toward doing the refin.I can attest to the LOVELY transformation Hack performed on a "SPECIAL" SG that was made EXEMPLARY and STUNNING beyond its original design
He also did the Gloss Voodoo to the "trade" fodder I got from him-----
Hack has a saying all his and my gear will eventually be mine and his gear --- BVUWAHAHAHAHA-- we swap gear like hookers at a Hells ANgels convention

this WAS a simple SGJ with the matte finish at one time..........BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Chasfred gets Kudos for the Bigsby sale/purchase/deal
Your Patriot. It got a blast of the DupliColor clear wheel coating.Well--- lemmie throw this at ya---
I love the SGJ and the gloss finish ---- however I typically GRAB the Faded T when just Noodling for a few minutes-- or as a LOW muss/fuss grab wail toss back on the hook gutiar--- the worn finish HAS its "merits" in ease of care-- no smudge-- no finger prints no funk (I mean its still there you just dont SEE it lol)

Wowza!! Quite stunning! Congrats!Pics, as promised.

I just couldn't capture the gloss. Needed a shiny surface like a beer can to reflect.
So far this seems to be one of the more durable clears.
Thanks Ivan. I may just take you up on the offer. Finding poly products isn’t an issue but good non-automotive lacquer products are harder to come by.If you have trouble finding nitro or polyurethane guitar finishing supplies @ninjaking67, check out www.guitaraust.com.au. They stock a couple of the main brands & all the fillers etc & other necessary items. If it seems expensive, you gotta figure in our Aussie dollar's piss poor value at the moment (about 65% US$). If they won't ship to Canada I could help you out with. Cheers
Edit:
I just checked their site, they do ship internationally & you won't be paying Australian GST (goods & services tax, IIRC about 15%) which is inclusive in listed item prices. Cheers

Thanks Dave. That sir is a classic and beautiful slab of pure rock. Congrats!
That sir, is one great fitting neck tenon. Here is the neck joint:

Look how tight that is with no room for play on either side. Wow!
Thanks Hack! I am very pleased so far. That sir, is one great fitting neck tenon.
No slop, no voids, no glue squeeze out mess .
My Gibson's aren't even close.
And she did clean up real nice.
Great score.
Nice shot of it NJ. An OCD thing I do is I set all the phillips head screws to N-S-E-W such that they are all in the same orientations. Just seems like good mojo, all of them strutting in the same direction. Here she is all polished up and waiting for new strings:
