Announcing... RiffMasters!

Here's my submission in 7/8.

Souls Descension
That would be a cool soundtrack to a murder thriller. Not horror mind you, but a good the good guy is battling the villain kind of high suspense thrill ride.

That was well executed!!

@Sapient unleashes Hell's Muzak upon us all, in a Time Traveling one-two punch combo, called "Souls Descension"
I believe that was his intention with this... to cover off both side hustles

So, it's plenty dark enough, you can easily visualize painful lashes cracking down, or is that perhaps bursts of flame gushing forth periodically?
The industrial wail/moan off-time vibe, with a semi-militant drum vibe really does hit the spot here. Good thinking!
One for the duel, 2 for the time-travel, I don't hear any clean guitar but not 100% sure if I'm hearing distorted guitar either. So one bonus point is pending on the "clean toan" bonus point until we can get more info. @Sapient can you break down the instrumentation/fx for us a bit to clarify?
Really enjoyed that piece, as intentionally tense and unsettling it is.

ALL: Thanks so much, pals!! Glad you like it and your perspectives are awesome. I must say I KNEW 'evil would like the DISSONANCE!! He is a DISSONANCE kinda GUY!! :yesway::dood:

For 'Voodoo ... I used:

- No clean guitar. Sorry I half read the rules. In fact, I didn't. Instead I went with what I heard in other's submissions. So much for not reading the label. :cautious:

- Superior Drummer 3 with a fairly strait forward 7/8 beat.

- My keyboard mapped MIDI to a Universal Audio synth plugin with a fairly hefty distortion plug after it. I also went back in "Automation" mode and adjusted the frequency dial at cool times to accentuate creepiness.

- Reverb is on the master track affecting all. Delay is on the "dun dun" rhythm falling on 7 and 1 beats to spread it out left and right. This is also a separate synth plug instance.

Thanks all and kudos to all the cool submissions coming in from y'all.

@Thatbastarddon - I'm not going to say your bass solo didn't cross my mind a few times. :D

I finished my first 6/8 tune, I think I'll drop it with part II.
I've been dreaming up this one for a while and never recorded it. Part II I threw down on the JamMan Solo a few years after but it deserves a real recording.

Spanning the Accretion/Escape From
The latter being a little tricky with an intro and (chorus?) sections that are in, hmm 3/4 and 5/8? I still can't even figure out wtf I composed, lol.

(It's count is 123 12345 then it falls back into 6/8.
Or is it 123456 12
6/8 and 2/2?) It doesn't fit to 4/4.
Well, whatever it is, it was really tricky chopping up the 6/8 beat I recorded off my TV from YouTube with my sound bar micked up with my AKG 220. :ROFLMAO:
I called the drum track DRUM CHUM it's so butchered. What's the deadline for Time Travelers?

Here is my LOVE SCENE submission.
I hope this worked... Thank you for all the help. I'm only high maintenance when it comes to PC issues.

Sexual Recipe

SEX

Rub it down,
Open wide,
I'm mixing up a Sexual Recipe,
Deep inside.
The best part,
Between your knees,
All you need for this recipe is
You and me,...
Sex, sex, sex, sex,...
Sexual

Here we are,
Alone at last,
There is no reason why we should move fast.
Take it slow,
'til the crack of Dawn,
Deep in the one crack that I love my hunger will spawn!
Sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex,
Sexual Recipe, Mama,
Sexual, Sexual, Recipe!

You know what I mean, yeah, yeah!

I love your box and it loves me,
When we're together we are so free,
In your pink quicksand I will sink,
And all your juices I will drink,
Your juices flow when you're with me,
Your juices flow like river to sea,
Lick, Lap, Luscious Labia,
This is it, just you and me-uh,
Or if you'd like it, bring a friend,
Cuz in this recipe there's no end.

Doggy Style,
Or 69,
We can do anything possible,
Whatever cums to mind,
Rub it down,
Open wide,
I'm mixing up a Sexual Recipe,
Deep inside.

Sex, sex, sex, sex,
Sexual Recipe

OK here's my 6/4 time submission: Powdered_Water.mp3

Nice work, fellows. Just getting to really listening to everyone's stuff. Good jams!!

Hell's MuZaK
You will create what YOU imagine to be the Muzak they play in Hades. The Hot Place, Hell. This challenge is also open to all TTR Members, and RiffMasters, for a single point. Submit any time before this round ends.

Here's my submission: Stipendium-Peccati-Mors.mp3 The Latin phrase is: The Wages of Sin is Death.
It starts off with a little Bach piece I like to play, then gets more foreboding with various instrumentation.

As you listen, picture in your mind that the voice actress in the song is standing before the gates of hell. Her lifestyle choices led to an unexpected death at age 26. She's come to realize that her lascivious and licentious ways have now led to an eternal Weeping and Gnashing of Teeth.

Awesome track

I don't know what Army of Me is; I just slightly blurred a pic of my ex and added the text on top.
You could give her steak often if you like... but it will never be enough, and that's a unique form of hell. o_O
You have the same pattern as Bjork - Army of me. I believe it's Locrian mode as well. Your X? No way. Seriously?

I retract my comment - wouldn't be too brotherly otherwise. :dood:

(however, if you didn't mind.)

@Randy Van Malmsteen brings out his huge organ, sends some poor young lady into tears of anguish. Then, he builds the tension by getting all heavy-like with a devilish, spidery riff. I particularly liked the plucked string section bits. This is a great instrumentation effect that adds so much tension, happiness or whatever depending on whatever key and mode you are working in. Definitely score a full point for RVM's "Hell's MuZak" - the ending just seems so..... FINAL!

Shortly after that, @Jethro Rocker finally returns back to RiffMasters loud and proud to serve us up a big helping of some cold leftovers, but at least he re-heated it a bit so all that lickage works just fine against the spicy video happenings. Seems to me this very well could be some sort of set-aside Scorpions track direct from back in 1985 or whatever, but we'll take your word that it's your own work. I like how builds up into a literally explosive scene, but different from Sapients' love explosions FX, these are a little more matching the onscreen fireworks. Really nice work there JR! It will go to a vote on the 16th, but two extra points for the video edit and the SFX

I was really worried that there would be so many issues with folks not being able to add music to a video, so I made alternate plans. Seems that problem was not as big a thing as I thought it would be. Still if anyone needs the assistance, I am there to help you out, all you gotta do is get your music recorded and available to me by this saturday night.

Finally was able to get my own Round Five "Soundtrack of Love" completed. "Shmexytime" features clips edited from a cult classic.
Because I am way behind, or feeling way behind due to various reasons this month, I opted to do the 7/8th "Time Traveler" challenge at the same time, in what is pretty much a classic porno flick wank, with flanger and wah to help it, but in cleaner tones. I honestly will admit I had REAL trouble with stretching myself into an oddball time signature. I'm not even sure if I managed to do it proper, I doesn't feel exactly right, but here's my submission anyway.

I'm just glad to get it done and be able to move on. It pales in comparison to other submissions from y'all, but I'm going to just move on and aim to put more energy into future creative challenges I feel are not way above my musical skill level.

Yup sure is. Thus no drums! I did this back in like early 2000s with my computer, a mic and the Jubilee.
Does sound kinda Scorps-ish, I did some guitar harmony sorta Free Birdy stuff there. Was fun.

Oh and with the intro, an A minor chord, some of the notes would ring differently, one started to feedback but still ultimately is an A minor. A very neat effect, I think. I need to try that again somewhere. 6 tracks total, a Bass, clean, crunch, balls, and 2 lead tracks

Awesome! Lots of tracks there and mixing. Funny too! Love the wah...

I found a song I did years back that, to me, fits the Love movie well. So that's what I used. Had to adjust speed a touch and added effects.
Intro was fun. I tried to make chords by recording one note at a time for a total of I think 6 tracks. Makes a cool eerie sound to me

:ROFLMAO:

I had given you the heart eyed smiley ...until I heard the explosions.

Classic!! Nice work, 'thro!!
